Monthly Memorial Service APRIL
♪春 が 来 た 春 が来た　どこに来た。山に来た。里に来た。
野にも来た。
SESHU
(OBSERVANT)
という歌があります。４月になりました。日本は桜がとても美しいころ
でしょう。春の歌もいろいろありますが、「春が来た」は多くの方が口
ずさむことのできる歌です。ある資料によると、１９１０年の尋常小学
校の音楽の教科書から１００年以上、ずっと掲載されている歌だそうで
す。ですからこれを読んでいる方は一度はこの歌を歌ったことがあると
思います。
私たちは「春が来た」と歌い、実際に春という季節はやってきますが、
いったい春というのは何なのでしょうか？春が来ると、暖かくなり、桜
が咲き、蝶やハチが花から花へ飛ぶのを見るようになるのですが春その
ものを見たことのある人はいません。
春というのはあるのだけれども、色や形がないのです。春とは桜を咲か
せ、虫たちの活動を活発にさせるはたらきのことをいいます。春を見た
人はいませんが、実際にそのはたらきを気候や桜や蝶にみて感じる事が
できます。
阿弥陀仏も私を救い目覚めさせるはたらきで、春と同様、色もなく形も
ありません。「法身（ほっしん）は色もなく形もありません。ですから
思いはかる事もできず、言葉で言い表す事もできません。（唯信鈔文
意）」と親鸞聖人は言われます。
法身というのは、阿弥陀仏の姿の一つで、お仏壇の中にご安置する阿弥
陀さまの絵や木像の姿とは違う姿ではありますが、本質は同じです。水
が氷やお湯になるようなものだと思ってください。
でも、色や形がなかったら目に見えないのにどうして親鸞聖人は阿弥陀
仏がおられるとわかったのですか？と問いたくなります。
それは、春と同様、親鸞聖人も阿弥陀仏のはたらきを受け、お慈悲の暖
かさを感じられたからです。 そのはたらきは私たちの心の闇を照らし
て、私たちが愚かでたいしたことのない人物だと知らせてくださいま
す。そしてそのおかげでちょっとはましな人物にならせていただこうと
思うようにもなってきます。
親鸞聖人は「一念多念文意（いちねんたねんもんい）」の中で「凡夫（
ぼんぶ）というのは、無明煩悩が身に詰まっていて、欲が多く、怒り、
腹立ち、そねみ、たみなど悪い心がひまなくはたらいています。それが
臨終の死ぬ瞬間までなくならないのです。」と、仏の光に照らされて見
ることのできた自分の汚い心について書かれています。
けれども、ただ心が汚いのをみて終わるのでなく、「阿弥陀さまが そ
ういう愚かな者をあわれに思われて必ずお浄土に生れさせてくださると
の願いがありがたい、申し訳ない」と感謝や反省がうながされ、「じゃ
あ、ちょっとはましな人間になるようにしてみよう」と、できるだけ欲
張らないように、怒らないように気をつけようとなってくるのです。
そういう気づきや感謝や反省がでてくるところに阿弥陀仏のはたらきを
感じ取ることができます。

洗 心寺美術館ギ ャ ラ リ ー ： ４ 月 の 掛 け 軸
“ 正信偈と南無 阿 弥 陀 仏
Shoshinge and Namoamidabutsu
今月の掛け軸は、南無阿弥陀仏の書ですが、普通の書と
は異なり、南無阿弥陀仏は筆で書かれておらず、正信偈
のお経の各行の空白から浮かび上がっているのです。
正信偈は、私達浄土真宗の創立者親鸞聖人（１１７３–
１２６３）がお書きになった“真実なる目覚め、信心”
についての偈文で、浄土真宗の根本の教えを説いていま
す。各行７つの漢字、１２０行計８４０文字で構成さ
れ、教えが盛り噫まれているのですが、この掛け軸をよ
く見ますと、文字の空白が南無阿弥陀仏の６文字を作っ
ています。東洋では昔から、仏典を写経することが大切
な修行の一つ

る習慣があります。写経することで、良いカルマを得る
ことができ、自分の願いが叶えられると信ずる人も多々
います。
浄土真宗では、しかし、そのようには考えません。浄
土真宗の人間の願いの見方はユニークで、正直だから
です。人々の願いは屢々不純なエゴに基づきます。例え
ば、もっとお金がほしいとか、いい娘婿が見つかればと
か、長生きできたら等と、自分の利欲に捕われていま
す。そのような汚れたエゴで写経しても、よいカルマを
得ることはできません。むしろ邪悪なカルマを積む事に
なり、地獄的な人生を送る結果になります。大いなる慈
悲を象徴する阿弥陀様は、私達の邪心に
満ちるエゴを克服し、仏の世界である浄土に生まれるこ
とを願われたのです。
親鸞聖人は、自己中心の束縛から解放され、目覚めさせ
る阿弥陀仏の偉大なる力の教えを数多く書かれていま
す。正信偈では南無阿弥陀仏の意味、その働きを

土仏教の高祖の教えを引用されて、この１２０行のお経
に盛り噫まれました。その各行、そしてその行間に南無
阿弥陀仏の意味が説かれ、浮かび上がっているのです。
この掛け軸の正信偈は、サリナス仏教会の不二川往来開
教使が写経されたものです。マス先生が１９６０年代京
都で勉強されていた頃、不二川先生に英語を教えられた

The Hatsumairi is a special service at which an infant is
presented for the first time to the Buddha, Dharma and
Sangha at the temple, hence the term Hatsumairi which means
“First Going”. Parents bring their infant child or children to the
temple for the first time to present them before the image of the
Buddha Amida and to the members of the Sangha, expressing
their desire to expose them to the Buddhadharma, the teachings
of the Buddha.
Senshin Temple’s Gotanye Service, the birthday of Shinran
Shonin, will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014. All babies born
since the last Gotanye Service, or thereabouts, are invited to
participate in this year’s Hatsumairi.
Please fill out the registration form below and mail it to Senshin Temple no later than May 11th. The Hatsumairi will be held
as part of the Gotanye Service at 10:00am when your child will
be presented a Nenju, a certificate and gift.
