豊かな英語表現に挑戦〈全 2 回〉
いよいよ「コミュニケーション英語Ⅱ」も残すところ２回。
この２回の放送は、通常の Lesson を離れて「豊かな英語表
現に挑戦」というテーマで、お二人のゲストを迎え " 英語で表
現する楽しさや難しさ " などを伺いながら、生きた英語学習の
面白さについて探っていきます。
番組では、お二人が音楽に興味を持ったきっかけや、英語を
講師：田辺博史
勉強する際のアドバイスやこれからの夢などを体験をもとにお
話しいただきます。みなさんの英語学習の参考にしてください。

１回目のゲストは鮎貝健さんです。
１９７０年東京生まれで、お父様の転勤のため２～９
歳までをニューヨークで過ごし、１６歳で再びアメリ
カへ渡ります。このころにバンド活動を開始。帰国後、
大学在学中にテレビの音楽番組のビデオジョッキーと
して活動を開始。FM を初めとするラジオ DJ や、テ
レビ番組のナレーションや映画出演、バンド活動では
ヴォーカルを担当。さらにさまざまなアーティストへ
の楽曲提供、英会話に関する本の執筆など多方面で活
躍しています。

⃝番組では、お二人にいくつかの質問をし、英語で答えていただきました。その一部を掲載
しました。鮎貝健さんは、くだけた英語表現をたくさん使っているのが特徴ですね。
Q：作曲するときの難しさは？
I always had… like a… ideas in my head. But they were more like bits and
pieces like phrases. They kept on going around. Iʼm not really sure when
I put them all together. I grew up… like a… listening to English music, so
singing in English was like rather natural for me. But singing in Japanese,
like the… the groove is totally different. The words are completely straight
out… in front of our face, so it was a bit of challenge.
Q：これからの夢は？
I recently just got married. So thereʼs one dream come true. My following
dream is to have a lot of kids, as many as possible, and to have a happy
family. I really want my kids to learn English. So they get more chances to
communicate with people around the world.

Anyango さん
アニャンゴ
２回目のゲストはアフリカの民族楽器ニャティ
ティ奏者の Anyango さんです。
Anyango さんは東京生まれ。アフリカの音楽
に魅了され、単身ケニア奥地の村で現地の人たち
と生活をしながら修業をしました。世界初の女性
のニャティティ奏者です。そして、日本ケニア文化
親善大使として日本各地の小・中学校で演奏、さ
らに世界各国でニャティティの魅力を伝えています。
Q：ニャティティという楽器は？
I thought this was the very musical instrument I had been looking for. I
play roles of vocalist, percussionist, and string player when I play the nyatiti.
I met the nyatiti incidentally, but I feel the spirit of the nyatiti chose me as a
player because I fell in love with the nyatiti the moment I saw it.
Q：これからの夢は？
A few years ago, my master of the nyatiti passed away. He once said to
me, “Anyango, go to many countries all over the world and play the nyatiti.
Go to the places I cannot visit and play the nyatiti. Keeping his words in
my mind, I will continue playing the nyatiti not only in Africa but also in Asia,
Europe, and America.
