Spin Preschool Newsletter…A program proudly brought to you by Starpoint 2016 Messages Spring is just around the corner! The month of March is a busy month. Please watch for postings of different events that are coming. Starting on March 4th, Starpoint Children’s Services is working with Fremont Center of the Arts to create an interactive math exhibit, Mathematical Abstraction. Next, Preschool will be closed for Spring Break March 21st-March 25th. Lastly, mark your calendar for April 7th. This will be the night that we host our annual Fairy Tale Night. We would love to have you all join us for fun through books! Thank You, Misty Hinkle, Center Director Infant Room Toddler Room Our infants are crawling and scooting everywhere. We have a new friend in the classroom who won't be far behind. Please remember to bring shoes and coats every day. We have been having some nice days and on those days we like to go for stroller rides to get fresh air. The children love it and so do we. Thank you for bringing family photos to display in the classroom. The children are enjoying looking at all the photos of families and their friends. As always thank you for letting us be a part in your child's life. It’s March already. We have had some great weather and have been spending extra time outside when we can, however the weather can change quickly so please make sure your child has a jacket every day. This month we will be working on selfhelp skills, like taking off our shoes, socks and coats; pulling our pants up and down; and washing our hands with little assistance. We will continue to working on counting and letters. Thank You, Kris & Tammy Thank You, Karen, Michelle, Pam Purple Room Orange Room This Friday is off to a surprise start. Ms. Ashley has had her baby boy a little early, so she will be out for a few weeks to be with him. Ms. Tori will be working in her place until Ashley is able to return. This month we will continue to explore cultures: talking about our differences and similarities. We will also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday, March 17th (Be sure to wear your green). At that time we will talk about Irish heritage. As Easter comes closer, we will decorate Easter Eggs on Monday March 28th. It’s already March, and the children are growing to be awesome little people. There will be a couple new faces joining us this month from the toddler room. The children have been really enjoying the song “Do You Like Brocolli?” so we’ll be trying out some new veggies & fruits. Please let us know if there are any fruits or vegetables your child might be allergic to. Thank You, Nikki and Ashley Ms. Angie & Ms. Cassie Yellow Room Green Room Hello from the yellow room! I just want to say good job to all my yellow room kids we have been working so hard on counting! The kids are doing so well! Another hip hip hooray to the kiddos, all of them can put on their coats without help!!! Now we are working on fasteners! This month we are learning about the new season, spring. We will talk about the changing weather, all things growing, and things crawling. Also we will be trying green foods like spinach, kale, and kiwi. Yum! Last, just a reminder spring break is March 21-25! This month we will be working on the letters P, Q and R, counting from 10-20 and celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. With St. Patrick's Day coming up we will be trying Green foods. Spring is right around the corner so we will be discussing the changes that come with it. Just a reminder Spring break is from the 21-25 of this month. Thank you, Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Kylie Thank You, Mabel, Nina, Mary Activities For Home Painting with a Scent: http://www.preschoolrainbow.org/preschool-spring.htm Materials: Paper (prefer stiff) Several flavors of Kool-Aid Paint brushes Description: Mix each flavor in a separate container with about half a cup of water. Allow the children to paint on the paper with the brushes after dipping them in the flavored water. The painting looks just like watercolor paints and it smells so good. Actually the whole art area smells great! The children love dipping their brushes in and smelling them before they paint, they try to guess what flavor it is. They come up with some pretty interesting guesses. After the painting has dried the children can scratch their painting with their finger and smell the paint on their picture. Just like scratch and sniff stickers.
