Let’s Make Christmas Tree Decorations!
Theme:
Time: Two 20 minute sessions.
Students will make and exchange Christmas tree decorations and then decorate a tree in
groups.
Preparation:
Colored card, scissors, glue.
Instructions:
1.
Make paper Christmas tree templates for your students. You will need one Christmas tree for each
group.
( In a class of 40 students, make groups of 5. So you will need 8 Christmas trees.)
Give each group a Christmas tree , glue, a pair of scissors, and several sheets of colored card.
2.
Groups should make an original decoration for their tree (Any decoration students want to draw is
OK.) Every member of the group should make two copies of the decoration. One copy will be
exchanged with members of the other groups.
3.
Students should walk around the class and exchange decorations with the other groups. The aim is
for each group to collect all the different types of decorations. Students can say the following
phrases when exchanging decorations:
A: Hello, what is it?
B: It’s an apple.
A: Apple please.
B: Here you are.
A: Thank you.
4.
After students have collected their decorations they should start decorating their group’s tree.
5.
Group members should work together to decide where each decoration is placed.
Students can use the following simple phrases to suggest where each decoration is placed.
A: A star here?
B: OK.
Or…
A: How about a star here?
B: OK.
6.
You can create a wall display in your class of all the different Christmas trees.

Let’s Make Christmas Tree Decorations!

テーマ: 「クリスマスツリーを飾りましょう。」
子どもたちはお互いにクリスマスツリーの飾りを交換し、自分たちのグループ
のクリスマスツリーを飾りつけする活動です。
準備： 紙画用紙、はさみ、のり
方法：
１．
クリスマスツリー型の紙をそれぞれのグループに配布します。
（４０人のクラスであれば、５人のグループが８グループできます。したがってクリスマス
ツリーの型紙を８枚準備します。）
それぞれのグループにクリスマスツリー型の紙１枚とはさみと色画用紙を数枚配布します。
２．
各グループでツリーの飾りを作ります。自分が飾りたいと思うどんな絵でもＯＫです。グループ
メンバー全員２枚ずつ作成します。一枚は他のグループと交換するためです。
３．
子どもたちは、クリスマスツリーの飾りを他のグループと交換するために、教室内を歩きます。
この活動は様々な種類のクリスマスツリーの飾りを集めることを目的とします。飾りを交換する
とき、以下のように話します。
A: Hello, what is it?
B: It’s an apple.
A: Apple please.
B: Here you are.
A: Thank you.
４．
クリスマス・ツリーの飾りが集まったら、自分たちのクリスマスツリー
の飾り付けをはじめます。
５．
グループのメンバーで話し合って、どの飾りをどこに飾るかを決めます。
その際、以下のようなフレーズを使います。
A: A star here?
B: OK.
Or…
A: How about a star here?
B: OK.
６．
それぞれのグループの作品を教室の壁飾りにすることができます。
