CCC Program Characteristics
CCC は、日加両国の学生が共に学ぶ CCC 修了証プログ
ラム
（CP）と、関学生のみを対象とする特別な MDS
（複

The Cross-Cultural College is composed of two programs. One is the Certificate
Program (CP) for students from both Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) and the three
Canadian universities, the other the MDS Program, only for students from KGU.

For each of the CCC objectives listed on page 2, a 5-step scale will be created,
and a curriculum map will be drawn up, clearly stating which of the program s
objectives each course is designed to achieve for the students. A curriculum
tree , showing the appropriate progression of courses (including prerequisites)
will also be drawn up, so that individual students are able regularly to check
their own progress.

CP について
Certificate Program(CP) では日本とカナダの学生が協力して課題を発見し、解決策を立案 ･ 実行する実践的な科目（コ
ア科目）を選択必修科目として設置しています。
The Certificate Program (CP) offers opportunities for students from Japan and Canada to work together in
discovering topics and propose possible solutions that combine their diverse perspectives. For this the program
offers compulsory core courses structured to train participants in the use of proactive problem solving skills.

In the CCC Joint Seminar, I learned a lot from wonderful experiences. Joint Seminar is a chance
to study with high level students from Japan and Canada. As Japanese and Canadian students
tackle the same issues from the view point of cross-cultural interaction and understanding
through group work, we can share various perspectives and expand our scope. For instance,
our group discussed Japanese and Canadian diplomatic policies toward the United States as
a central issue, which is closely related to my research topics in KGU. The group research with

3-credit course for 20 students from Canadian universities（4 from

the University of Toronto）and 20 KGU students. All Canadian
participants will be those who have completed the Summer
School described in 1 above.
事前授業（インターネット／テレビ会議システム利用の E ラーニング含
む）の後で 7 日間のラップアップセッションを行います。
7-day collaborative research session following 10 on-line and inclass sessions
トヨタ、パナソニックなどの企業から提示された課題について、学生
はグループを作り解決策を立案します。ラップアップセッションで企
業にプレゼンテーションを行います。
Students in groups will discuss and propose a solution for
a problem presented by a cooperating company. At the
collaborative research session they will present their conclusions
to the company. Participating firms will include Toyota and
Panasonic. (Works visits are also planned.)

The CCC Program was probably the best program I ve ever participated in. The subject matter
was taught both clearly and passionately, and all the students I worked together with were
invested in their topics of research. I learned a great deal about Japan s history and culture, as
well as Canada s interactions with Japan. The experience of being able to navigate the train
system in Japan after getting myself lost is something I will never forget! Thankfully, I had been
practicing my Japanese with my peers and was able to get home safely. My favorite parts of
the program were the field trips to important historical locations, such as Todaiji and Horyuji in
Japan, and the 30,000 Islands in Canada, as well as making friends with my roommates. Should
another opportunity like this arrive, I wouldn t hesitate to take it.

I decided to participate in Global Internship because of two reasons. One is that I wanted to
experience working and feel what office working is like before my job hunting. And also it was
a trial for me to make sure that my English skill was high enough for business use.
My destination was Aichi, Toyota Motors. They gave us a task: to think how to spread their
trainings and rules to their affiliates all over the world. It is very important for global companies
to keep the quality of products. We started working with learning lots of rules and finally had a
presentation about that.
It was really harder work than I expected. But through this program, I learned lots of things such
as skills for work, Japanese monozukuri spirit, and what business for a global company was like.
カナダ（マウント・アリソン大学）で 2 週間、日本（関西学院大学）で 2
週間の計 4 週間のコースです。カナダ・日本両コースへの参加が必要です。
E ラーニングによる事前学習を行った後に、日加の学生混成グループ
に分かれて寝食をともにしながら、フィールドワークやグループ発表な
どの協働学習を行います。
A 2-week course will be held in Canada (Mount Allison University)
followed by a 2-week course in Japan (Kwansei Gakuin University).
Students must complete both courses.
Preparation by e-learning, then students from both countries
spend 2 weeks in each country living and studying together on
multicultural issues. Lectures, fieldwork, and group work followed
by presentations.
I strongly recommend this program to all KGU students. It was such a wonderful experience for
me that I will never forget the 2 weeks.

For my internship I had the opportunity to explore a new area of Japan and made a friend for
life with my incredible internship partner. Not only was it a fun experience, but I also challenged
myself in new ways and in the end felt as though I had really achieved a new level of personal
development to be proud of. Improvements in my ability to integrate myself into a new
environment, communicate with people on a personal and also professional level, as well as
increase my confidence levels with public speaking were all products of my internship that I
still carry with me today. The Global Internship was one of the best experiences of my life that I
wish I could do again.
