KEISOKU WINTER LECTURE‐2011 INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
WHY IS “AID FOR TRADE” NEEDED? 本講演会では，国際連合とWTOからの委任をうけて貿易に関わる技術支援を促進する国際貿易セ
ンターのシニアオフィサーで、開発経済学・貿易政策がご専門の Franck Ekutu BONZEMBA氏をお
迎えし、国際貿易と途上国の経済発展についてご講演いただきます。グローバル化する世界経済で
は、途上国と先進国間のギャップ、特に最貧国の経済発展が世界の重要な課題となっています。本
講演では、途上国の中でも特に最貧国が国際経済への統合を通じて経済発展を実現するにあたっ
て、国際機関が果たすべき役割について経済学の観点からお話いただきます。最貧国途上国が直面
する開発問題を、「貿易に関する援助（Aid For Trade）」の観点から分析した結果を、国際機関での
豊富な経験に基づく専門知識とともにご報告いただきます。講演会にはどなたでもご参加いただけま
す。特に国際貿易と開発途上国、社会・経済開発に関心をお持ちの方は，是非ご来場ください（講演
は英語で行われます）。
The Institute of Economics and Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics, Wakayama University, organizes the KEISOKU Winter Lecture 2011, which addresses the important relation between international trade and economic development. These developmental issues are gaining in importance in light of the existing divide between developed and developing countries, and the role of international organizations in promoting the integration of countries with extreme levels of poverty into the world economy. This lecture will examine the development challenges faced by developing countries and the development assistance such as “Aid For Trade” solutions. Dr Franck Ekutu BONZEMBA, who is Senior Trade Promotion Officer at the International Trade Centre (mandated by the United Nations and WTO to promote trade‐related technical assistance), in charge of the promotion of international trade, will provide unique insights into these important issues from the practical perspective. This lecture will be open to anyone with broad interests in issues related to international trade as
well as social and economic development.
