フェイスウエスト社、ヴァージン・モバイル社とコンテンツ配信で提携
株式会社フェイスの米国子会社、Faith West 社（以下フェイスウエスト）はこの度、米 Virgin Mobile USA 社
（以下ヴァージン・モバイル）に和音着信メロディサービス「Modtones（モッドトーンズ）」のコンテンツを供給
することで合意しました。
すでに米国では各メーカーからマルチメディア対応携帯電話が出揃っており、コンテンツサービスの中では
着信メロディの利用が拡大しています。フェイスウエストは 2002 年 5 月の設立以来、フェイスグループのノウ
ハウ、サービス、技術を携帯電話キャリア等に提供し、アメリカの着信メロディ市場をリードしてきました。そ
して、和音着信メロディサービス「Modtones」は、携帯電話市場を牽引する若者層の新しいトレンドを創造し
ています。
今回相手先ブランドの「VirginXtras」でサービス提供することで、現地企業とのパートナーシップを強化し、配
信チャンネルを拡大します。このサービスで提供する着信メロディは 1 曲あたり約 2 ドル（USD）で、対応端
末の「Audiovox ’Vox’8500」でのダウンロードが可能です。ヴァージン・モバイルは直近の四半期に 23 万人
以上の新規ユーザーを獲得しており、このコンテンツ配信事業の将来ポテンシャルは高いと考えています。

Faith West To Deliver Bass-Thumping Modtones Ringtones
To Virgin Mobile Handsets
San Francisco, CA (July 23, 2003) – Faith West, Inc. today announced that it has been selected to
deliver polyphonic ringtones from its wildly popular Modtones brand (www.faithwestinc.com) to Virgin
Mobile USA, the nation’s first wireless service designed exclusively around the needs of the youth
market.
“Virgin Mobile’s marketing is smart, fresh and hip – and right on target to attract the youth demographic
that is driving the wireless revolution,” said Carolynne Schloeder, executive vice president, Faith West,
Inc. “We know what this market wants to hear and our catalog reflects it. We’re thrilled to help make
hits from the radio available to Virgin Mobile customers.”

Customers with Virgin Mobile’s Audiovox “Vox” 8500 handset can download Faith West’s extensive
Modtones catalog of multi-instrument polyphonic ringtones directly from their handset or from the
Virgin Mobile Web site (www.virginmobileusa.com). The ringtones are served under the Virgin Mobile
brand.
Ringtones include versions of Excuse Me Miss, Big Poppa, The James Bond Theme and many more.
