Under the motto "Friendship through Flowers," volunteers from different nationalities govern Ikebana International, along with the support of many ikebana schools. In 1969 Ikebana International was granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan the status of SHADAN HOJIN, a title given to cultural, non-profit organizations in Japan. Today there are more than 165 Chapters in over 60 countries with around 8,000 members worldwide. いけばなインターナショナルは、いけばなの素 晴らしさと 日本文化の紹介を通じ、相互理解と友好の輪を世界に広める 趣旨で1956年、東京に設立されました。会員のボランティア 活動で運営され、1969年には非営利の団体として外務省から 社団法人の認可をうけました。現在世界60余ヶ国に165余の いけばなインターナショナル東京支部主催 Ikebana International Fair 2012 Tohoku To Tomoni Together with Tohoku モットーである “花を通じての友好” を実践しています。 Tokyo Founding Chapter (TFC) of Ikebana International was founded in 1956. TFC is proud to continue the tradition of holding its Annual Ikebana International Fair. The Fair is TFC's largest charity and fundraising event throughout the year.
