データは常に3つのコピーを別の場所に保存してお
きましょう。
年に一度はハードディスクドライブとバックアッ
プドライブをスピンアップして、ドライブの状態
を良好に保ちましょう。
ShotPut Pro™などの転送管理ソフトウェアを使っ
て、コピーをトラッキング、チェックサムの検証
（正確なデジタルコピーができたかどうかを検証
）を実施しましょう。また、こうしたソフトウェ
アを使えば、複数のドライブにデータを同時にコ
ピーするのに、コンピューターの前で長い間イラ
イラしながら待つ必要はありません。
