August 20, 2015
Welcome back to a new school year. I hope that everyone enjoyed their summer vacation. It is
wonderful to see the many smiling faces of our students once again. With God’s blessing, I look
forward to a great year of living, learning, and growing in the love of our Lord. May He bless us
as we work together this school year at St. Constance School.
In today’s folder you will find the following:
1) An Emergency Notification Card – One card is sent home to the oldest/only child in
each family. Please fill our both sides of the card and return to school no later than
tomorrow, Friday, August 21, 2015. All information should be current and updated as
needed.
2) The School Handbook - Please read the Handbook which is posted on our school
website at www.stconstanceschool.org under “Current Families”. Some revisions/updates
have been made. I am asking for everyone’s cooperation in following the rules/policies of
the school. Please download and sign the Parent/Student Acknowledgement Page and
return to school on or before Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
3) K-12 Accident Plans – All available plans are offered by Special Markets Insurance
Consultants, Inc. To research which plans are being offered, please visit
www.k12specialmarkets.com.
4) School Medication Procedure Packet – This packet can be found on our website,
www.stconstanceschool.org. Please read, download, and have your child’s physician
complete the necessary forms. Please note that the school will NOT be able to issue any
form of medication without appropriate forms. This is a policy mandated by the Office of
Catholic Schools, Archdiocese of Chicago. All parents are to complete and return the
Medical Information and Medical Notification Form for each of their children if
applicable.
As in the past, students in grades K-8 will be attending monthly All School Liturgies, as well as
the 8:00 a.m. weekly Liturgies. Our first school Liturgy will be held on Wednesday,
September 2nd at 8:00 a.m. for students in grades K-8. Please note that Preschool students will
join us at the monthly school Liturgies beginning in October. A Mass schedule will be included
on the monthly calendars. Parents and school families are invited to join us at our weekly and
monthly liturgies.
All are invited and welcome to stop by for a tasty treat at the Home and School Association’s
annual Ice Cream Social this Friday, August 21st from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Borowczyk Hall. All
guests are asked to please enter through the Ainslie Street doors.
Please join us for our annual Back To School Night on Thursday, September 3rd beginning at
6:45 p.m. in Borowczyk Hall. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet the faculty, other
school families, receive an overview of your child’s curriculum, and to learn more about our
school organizations. A flyer is enclosed for your convenience.
The Extended Care Program has officially begun. If you haven’t signed up for the program but
would like to do so, please call the school office for a registration form.
All are invited to the annual St. Constance Parish Picnic this Sunday, August 23rd at Bunker Hill
Preserve, Grove #4. We will be located on the right as you enter from Harts Road. The day will
include a bi-lingual Mass at 11:00 a.m., music entertainment, fun games for children and plenty
of delicious food. I hope to see you there.
Finally, I am asking for everyone’s understanding in the following health matter. As more and
more of our students have been identified with severe allergies to peanuts and peanut/oil based
products, I am asking for ALL parents to please REFRAIN from sending lunch items,
snacks. etc. that contain any form of peanut ingredient. Please assist us in establishing a
healthier environment for all. It is in the best interest and well being of our children. Thank you
for your cooperation.
