Who knows your facilities first hand ? Large organizations have thousands or tens of thousands of field staff Typically, feedback from the field is not encouraged – backlogs or low priority Who requires accurate data to do their job ? Returns are in the range of a quarter (25%) to a third (33%) of all work orders. Who owns the Records database ? What is the trend in the quality of the Records database ? Quality decreases with time Infrastructure Solutions Division 21 © 2005 Autodesk Solution: Open Spatial Enterprise Open ORDBMS 真実は一箇所で管理 Single point of truth データ2重管理の削減 Eliminates data redundancy 既存問題の解決 Resolve as-built problem CADとGISの統合はデータ2重化を排除しバックログの消化と今後 の発生を防ぎます CAD/GIS integration to eliminate redundant data and processes and eliminate backlogs Extend the office to the field Making field staff accountable for facilities data leads to improving data quality over time Infrastructure Solutions Division 22 © 2005 Autodesk ORDBMSベースのソリューション・アーキテクチャ ORDBMS-based Solution Architecture Object-Oriented API Object-Oriented API SQL Object Relational Mapping SQL RDBMS C/C++ API ObjectRelational DBMS Object Relational Mapping SQL RDBMS C/C++ API Data Server Standard Desktop Application Platform Custom Application Web Server Infrastructure Solutions Division Desktop http & HTML Web Client Web Mapping CGI,ISAPI NSAPI Web Application ODBC, JDBC, OLEDB Third-party Application ` http & XML Web Services Client ` 23 © 2005 Autodesk モバイル・ソリューション・アーキテクチャ Mobile Solution Architecture ObjectRelational DBMS Object-Oriented API SQL Object Relational Mapping RDBMS C/C++ API Data Server Map Sheet Generator and Refresh Cache of Stylized Map Sheets RDBMS C/C++ API Up l oa d Object Relational Mapping Markups Object-Oriented API Standard Desktop Appn Platform Synchronize Markups SQL Local Cache Map Sheets ` Edit Application Handheld Desktop Infrastructure Solutions Division 24 © 2005 Autodesk Key components of solution architecture 1. Cost of maintaining 50,000 microfiche records costs ENMAX C$1.8 million annually. Indirect costs associated with hits and resulting outages Hit rate was 9 hits per 1000 cable locate calls. For every thousand calls, there were nine incidents where electrical cables were damaged. Infrastructure Solutions Division 34 © 2005 Autodesk ENMAX Impact Analysis: Quality of Service and Safety Hit rate dropped from 9 hits per thousand cable locates to 0.25, 36-fold improvement Even though demand for underground locates has greatly increased over the past 10 years. ¾ Increased safety for excavating contractors and the public. ¾ Reduced Infrastructure Solutions Division outages due to hits. 35 © 2005 Autodesk ENMAX Impact Analysis: Data Quality ENMAX is required to undergo annually by the regulator. Most recent auditor’s report reported that 99.6% of the records audited were found to be correct in a field facilities survey. For many utilities and telecommunications firms, 70-80 % is typical. ¾ Data quality has improved. ¾ Atypical for the utility and telecom industries. Infrastructure Solutions Division 36 © 2005 Autodesk ENMAX Impact Analysis: Financial Benefits ¾Reduced operating cost of cable locate services • From over 20 vans to 5 • From over 25 personnel to 5 • Significant reduction in operating costs associated with cable locate services ¾Reduced operating costs by replacing paper and microfiche records • Reduced from C$1.8 million to C$1.2 million, • Annual savings of C$600 thousand.
