日本とフランスをつなぐ大学シンクタンク
EHESS Paris 日仏財団は、
日仏の知的交流の促進を目的として2009年にフランス・
パリで設立されました。財団が基礎をおくEHESS（社会科学高等研究院・パリ）
は、
社会科学分野で、
フランスにおいて最も高い評価と国際的知名度を有する高等研
究機関の一つです。私たちは、
フランスの社会科学分野の知的・政策的議論ないし
学術研究における日本のプレゼンスが依然として不十分であるという問題意識のも
と、以下のような活動を行っています。

ランスおよび欧州の教育機関・研究機関に招聘

About us
A university think tank bridging Japan and France
Created in 2009 and based in Paris, the Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS
aims to facilitate and promote intellectual exchanges between Japan and
France, with the conviction that Japan is not enough present in French debates
and researches. The EHESS (Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales)
is one of the most prestigious and international known French institutions for
higher education in social sciences.
The foundation’s main activities include:
n Inviting
Japanese researchers and other Japan experts to French and
European educational and research institutions that are in partnership with
the foundation
n Organizing events such as conferences, debates, and seminars
n Developing original research programs with comparative perspectives
n Publishing and translating books, journals, and articles
n Promoting collaboration between academic communities in Japan and

Organization
The Founder Sébastien Lechevalier
(Ph.D. of economics) is associate professor at EHESS,
where he teaches the Japanese economy. Previously,
he has been a researcher at Maison Franco-Japonaise
(Tokyo) and a visiting researcher in several Japanese
universities (University of Tokyo, Hitotsubashi University
and Waseda University).

An innovative foundation with support from public and private
partners in Japan and France
The Fondation France-Japan de l’EHESS is certified as a university foundation
by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (Article L719-12 of
the Education Code). This allows corporate donors that pay taxes in France to
beneficiate from a tax reduction of sixty percent of the donated amount.
Until now, the following institutions and organizations have supported us:

The Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS has developped 2 research programs:
n «Is deindustrialization a fatality? The future of manufacturing in Japan, Korea,
Germany, and France» (2011-2014)
Our goal is to contribute to the academic and public debates on deindustrialization by
gathering a team of 20 researchers, and organizing three workshops (in Paris, Tokyo
and Brussels). The major outcome will be the special issue of an academic journal
n «Corporate finance and governance in Asia: understanding organizational and
institutional changes» (2012-2015)
This program is coordinated by T. Hoshi (Stanford), S. Lechevalier (EHESS) and
H. Miyajima (Waseda)
French Partners
We also support the creation of the research network «Asian capitalisms» within
the Society of the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE).
The Board members give both administrative and intellectual guidance
to the foundation. There are eighteen members divided into four groups:
“representatives of EHESS” (5 members), “founding institutions” (4 members),
“supporting institutions” (4 members), and “external auditors” (5 members).

About us
A university think tank bridging Japan and France
Created in 2009 and based in Paris, the Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS
aims to facilitate and promote intellectual exchanges between Japan and
France, with the conviction that Japan is not enough present in French debates
and researches. The EHESS (Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales)
is one of the most prestigious and international known French institutions for
higher education in social sciences.
The foundation’s main activities include:
n Inviting
Japanese researchers and other Japan experts to French and
European educational and research institutions that are in partnership with
the foundation
n Organizing events such as conferences, debates, and seminars
n Developing original research programs with comparative perspectives
n Publishing and translating books, journals, and articles
n Promoting collaboration between academic communities in Japan and
France
Together with our partners—public and private, in Japan and in France—we
seek to contribute to the development of collaborative research in these two
countries and in Europe.

Organization
The Founder Sébastien Lechevalier
(Ph.D. of economics) is associate professor at EHESS,
where he teaches the Japanese economy. Previously,
he has been a researcher at Maison Franco-Japonaise
(Tokyo) and a visiting researcher in several Japanese
universities (University of Tokyo, Hitotsubashi University
and Waseda University).

An innovative foundation with support from public and private
partners in Japan and France
The Fondation France-Japan de l’EHESS is certified as a university foundation
by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (Article L719-12 of
the Education Code). This allows corporate donors that pay taxes in France to
beneficiate from a tax reduction of sixty percent of the donated amount.

The Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS has developped 2 research programs:
n «Is deindustrialization a fatality? The future of manufacturing in Japan, Korea,
Germany, and France» (2011-2014)
Our goal is to contribute to the academic and public debates on deindustrialization by
gathering a team of 20 researchers, and organizing three workshops (in Paris, Tokyo
and Brussels). The major outcome will be the special issue of an academic journal
n «Corporate finance and governance in Asia: understanding organizational and
institutional changes» (2012-2015)
This program is coordinated by T. Hoshi (Stanford), S. Lechevalier (EHESS) and
H. Miyajima (Waseda)
French Partners
We also support the creation of the research network «Asian capitalisms» within
the Society of the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE).
The Board members give both administrative and intellectual guidance
to the foundation. There are eighteen members divided into four groups:
“representatives of EHESS” (5 members), “founding institutions” (4 members),
“supporting institutions” (4 members), and “external auditors” (5 members).

20名の研究者から成るチームを組織し 、
パリ・東京・ブリュッセルにて３つのワーク
ショップを行う事で、産業の空洞化に関する学術的・政策的議論に貢献することを
目的としています。主要な研究成果は、学術雑誌の特集号に発表される予定です。
日仏財団は、社会経済振興学会 Society of the Advancement of SocioEconomics (SASE)内における『アジアの資本主義』 研究ネットワークの構築も

日本とフランスをつなぐ大学シンクタンク
EHESS Paris 日仏財団は、
日仏の知的交流の促進を目的として2009年にフランス・
パリで設立されました。財団が基礎をおくEHESS（社会科学高等研究院・パリ）
は、
社会科学分野で、
フランスにおいて最も高い評価と国際的知名度を有する高等研
究機関の一つです。私たちは、
フランスの社会科学分野の知的・政策的議論ないし
学術研究における日本のプレゼンスが依然として不十分であるという問題意識のも
と、以下のような活動を行っています。
n 日本人研究者及び各国の日本研究の専門家を、財団とパートナーシップにあるフ
ランスおよび欧州の教育機関・研究機関に招聘
