近年、盆栽は世界の共通語BONSAIとして海外への発展は著しいものがあり、世界各地に地域特有の様々な盆栽文化を生み出しております。
今回のシンポジウムは、第8回世界盆栽大会（2017年4月）
を控え、
その気運を醸成するために実施いたします。盆栽の著しい国際化を受けて、
世界に広がる盆栽の魅力や、
盆栽文化のあるべき将来像を描いていきます。
In recent years, Bonsai has been established as a global term with unique bonsai cultures developing in various
parts of the world. The upcoming Symposium will be held to stimulate excitement toward the 8th World Bonsai
Convention (April, 2017). With the globalization of bonsai, we will focus on the beauty and future of bonsai culture.

とは、盆中の仮山 の略称で、鎌倉・室町時代から見られる盆栽のルー
ツを指します。狂言『盆山』
は、盆山を盗もうとした男が巻き起こす滑稽な演技
が楽しい演目です。伝統芸能によって、中世の盆栽文化をお楽しみください。
Kyogen is a traditional form of Japanese comic theater and “Bonsan” is a
Kyogen program in which the roots of bonsai from the Kamakura/Muromachi
Period (1185-1573) can be seen.

といえるでしょう。国内外の各分野のパネラーがBONSAIの新たな可能
性と課題、
そして大宮盆栽美術館の役割について共に考えます。
Today, bonsai is not unique only to Japan, but can be seen as a global art
form. Both domestic and international panelists from a range of bonsai related
fields will discuss current possibilities and issues related to the future of
bonsai as well as the role of the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum.

The Omiya Bonsai Art Museum opened in March 2010 as the public
Bonsai museum displaying many of Japan’s greatest bonsais, with
goals to spread the culture.
