Santec's core technologies - thin-film and MEMS - have been the basis of our original and unique optical components. We have recently
unveiled a new manufacturing facility for liquid crystal devices. This additional key technology will enable the development of new advanced
optical devices for next generation optical switching, performance monitoring and other optical applications.
Santec manufactures a full range of passive optical components based
on dielectric filter deposition, MEMS and other optical materials. These
include interference filter products such as add/drop multiplexers,
wavelength lockers and tunable filters, a range of variable attenuators,
optical switches, and power monitoring devices, all specifically
designed for WDM systems.

The TSL-510 provides market-leading performance in a compact,
easy to use package. Continuous, mode-hop-free wavelength
sweeps can be performed over its full 130nm tuning range with
the highest output power of comparable bench top lasers on

required. GPIB and USB interfaces with the industry standard

The TSL-510 high performance tunable laser source can be easily
utilized for wavelength characterization synchronizing with other
suppliers' optical power meters or OSAs such as:

STS-510
The santec Swept Test System, STS-510 can measure the WDL/PDL
characteristics of optical components and modules at high speed,
with high accuracy and high resolution for use in both production
environments and R&D. Real-time referencing with simultaneous
acquisition of the output power monitor value from TSL-510 and the
transmitted optical power through the DUT, provides high accuracy
WDL/PDL characteristics.
You can configure a swept measurement system utilizing the
STS-510 with the santec Tunable Laser TSL-510, santec Swept
Processing Unit SPU-100 and any basic optical power meter. Santec
also offers photo receivers for swept measurements.

The OTF-930 bench-top tunable filter features a full 80nm
wavelength tuning range, and improved tuning mechanics to
ensure low insertion loss. The patented linear 'sliding tuning'
method achieves excellent optical properties, including very

Santec's tilting mirror design coupled with laser welded
packaging ensures a reliable, stiction-free device. It is available
in either single or eight channel modules or custom packaged as
required. Silicon MEMS devices are inherently robust and can
withstand repeated switching, wide temperature changes and
mechanical shock without failure. Santec's device is further
packaged to ensure operational stability and long-term
reliability.

The TPR-1 is an integrated filter and high speed receiver module
for fiber to the home and similar "Triple Play“ applications. The
device separates the 1310nm and 1490nm data signals from the
1550nm video signal, detecting the 1550nm signal on an
integrated receiver. Designed for use in V-ONU units, the
integrated functionality improves overall performance while
reducing both size and costs.

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is a non-invasive imaging
technique that relies on analyzing the frequency components of
backscattered light from the internal structure of an object or
tissue. The santec OCT system “Inner vision”, which utilizes the
source "HSL series“, enables either 3-D imaging or real time 2-D
imaging with high resolution.

BPD-200 is a balanced photo detector that outputs the
difference of two detector signals. This can be used for
reduction of common mode noise due to the laser power
fluctuation. In heterodyne detection as in most of OCT
applications, it provides a 3dB sensitivity advantage when
detecting the signal inverted in phase in between two input
signals. Furthermore, special design significantly reduced the
problem of the undesired image artifact which was a major
problem in the other balanced detectors. BPD-200 is the best
detector ever made specifically for SS-OCT applications.
