Getting Started

Set Up Software
DO NOT connect your player to your computer before setting up the software.
1.
Turn on your computer.
If you have Microsoft® Windows® XP or Windows 2000, you must log in as an administrator
in Windows before you can set up the software. For more information, refer to your
operating system’s online Help.
2.
Insert the Installation and Applications CD into your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. Your CD
should start automatically. If it does not, follow the steps below:
i.
Start Windows Explorer.
ii.
On the left pane, click the My Computer icon.
iii.
Right-click the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive icon, and then click AutoPlay.
3.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
4.
When prompted, restart your computer.
5.
When your computer restarts, follow the product registration instructions on the screen.
Note that you require an Internet connection to register your product.
When prompted, connect your player to your computer’s USB port using the supplied USB cable.

Turn On Player
Your player comes preloaded with some music to get you started immediately.

Charge the Battery
For Windows 98 SE only: DO NOT charge your player's battery via the USB
cable until after you have installed the software.
1.
Make sure your player is connected to your computer’s USB port with the supplied USB
cable. Connect to a computer USB port only; avoid connecting to a USB hub.
2.
When the battery is charging, the battery charging icon
flashes on the LCD.
When charging the battery:
• Avoid transferring files between your player and computer as this may lengthen the
charging time.
For continuous charging:
• Make sure your computer does not enter power conservation mode, for example,
Standby or Hibernation. For more information, refer to your operating system's Help.
3.
Disconnect your player from your computer when the battery is fully charged and you see
on your LCD. It takes approximately six hours to charge your player fully.
• To charge your player without using the computer, use the Zen Neeon power
adapter (available separately).

Rip and copy music
Rip music from your CD collection to your player, or copy audio files (such as music you have
purchased online) from your computer.
To rip music from your CD collection
1.
With your player connected to your computer, double-click the My Computer icon on
your desktop.
2.
Double-click the Zen Neeon Media Explorer
3.
Click the Rip Audio CD Tracks to Device option.
4.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
If you are connected to the Internet, album information is automatically retrieved.

To copy audio files from your computer
1.
With your player connected to your computer, double-click the My Computer icon on
your desktop.
You will notice that your player is recognized as a Removable Disk.
2.
Locate your audio files (MP3 or WMA files) on your computer and copy them to your player
using the drag-and-drop method.
Note that you can also transfer data files using this drag-and-drop method.
• WMA files with Digital Rights Management (DRM) cannot be copied to your player
using Windows Explorer. You can only do so with applications that support this
technology, such as Zen Neeon Media Explorer and Creative MediaSource™ .

Stopping Your Player Properly
Before disconnecting your player from your computer, use the Windows Eject or Safely
Remove Hardware icon
on the Taskbar to safely disconnect your player. If your player is not
disconnected safely, the content may become corrupted and the player will not function correctly.
Follow these steps below to safely disconnect your player:
Windows XP, Windows Me and Windows 2000
1.
Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon
USB Mass Storage Device as shown.

2.
Unplug your player when you are prompted to do so.
Windows 98 SE
1.
Wait at least 10 seconds after all file transfers are completed.

Playing a track

Managing Audio Tracks
For more advanced song management tasks, such as creating and managing playlists, you can use
Creative MediaSource Organizer. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer is your digital audio
center for playing, creating, organizing and transferring digital audio. To launch Creative
MediaSource Player/Organizer, double-click the Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer icon on
your desktop.

ご使用の準備

ソフトウェア / マニュアルのインストール
インストールを行う前にプレーヤーをコンピューターに接続しないで下さい。
1.
コンピューターを起動します。
お使いのオペレーティングシステムが Microsoft® Windows® XP または Windows
2000 の場合、管理者権限を持つユーザーアカウントでログオンした状態でソフト
ウェアのインストールを行って下さい。ユーザーアカウントや権限に関する詳細は
コンピューターや Windows のマニュアル等を参照して下さい。
2.
製品に付属のインストレーション CD をコンピューターの CD/DVD ドライブに
挿入します。
インストールメニューが自動的に現れない場合は次の手順に従って下さい：

スタートメニューやデスクトップのマイコンピュータを開きます。
ii.
インストレーション CD を挿入した CD/DVD ドライブのアイコンをマウスで
クリックし、右ボタンをクリックします。
iii.
ポップアップメニューより自動再生をクリックします。
インストールメニューの指示に従い、国 / 地域（日本の場合はアジア）や言語
（日本語）
、インストールするソフトウェア等を選んでインストールを開始します。
･ Windows 98 SE が動作しているコンピューターで本製品をお使になる際は、
プレーヤーのデバイスドライバーをインストールする必要がある場合があり
ます。ドライバーのインストール途中に Windows の CD を要求された際は、
画面の指示に従って下さい。
4.
画面の指示に従いインストールを完了させ、コンピューターを再起動します。
5.
ユーザー登録を行われる場合は、再起動後にプレーヤーをコンピューターに接続して、
画面の指示に従い登録作業を行って下さい。
ユーザー登録は任意であり、インターネット接続が必要ですので、登録を行わない
場合やインターネットに接続出来ない場合は、キャンセルして登録プログラムを
終了して下さい

バッテリーの充電
USB ケーブルを使用してプレーヤーとコン
ピューターの USB ポートを接続します。
起動しているコンピューターにプレーヤー
を接続しておくと、バッテリーの充電が行
われます。この際は、USB ハブではなく
コンピューター本体の USB ポートにプレー
ヤーを接続して下さい。内蔵バッテリーの
充電中は液晶画面の右上に
が点滅表示
されます。
充電を行う場合は :
･ コンピューターとプレーヤーの間でファイル等の転送を行うと、充電時間を
より要する事があります。
充電中は :
･ コンピューターがパワーセーブモードやスタンバイモード等になると充電が
中断してしまう場合があります。パワーモードの変更についてはコンピュー
ターや Windows のマニュアル等を参照して下さい。

バッテリーが完全に充電されると、液晶画面の右上に
が表示されます。コン
ピューターの USB ポート経由で充電を行う場合、電池残量がほぼ空の状態から
満充電までにおよそ 6 時間程度を要します。
プレーヤーをすぐにお使いになる場合は、17 ページの「プレーヤーの取り外し」
の手順てプレーヤーを安全に取り外して下さい。
･ Windows 98 SE をお使いの場合は、コンピューターにプレーヤーのデバイス
ドライバーがインストールされていないと正常に充電されない事があります。
･ 充電時間はバッテリーの状態やプレーヤーの使用状況等によって変化する
場合があります。
･ オプション品の USB 電源アダプターをご使用頂くと、コンピューターに
プレーヤーを接続しなくても AC 電源から充電することが出来ます。

音楽 CD や音楽ファイルの転送
お手持ちの音楽 CD やオンラインミュージックストアで購入した曲をプレーヤーで再生す
るには、コンピューターからプレーヤーに曲を転送する必要があります。
Creative MediaSource（クリエイティブメディアソース）をお使いになると音楽の転送
がスムーズに、直感的に行えます。また、デジタルカメラの画像ファイル等もプレーヤー
に保存して持ち運ぶ事が出来ます。この際は Windows エクスプローラや Zen Neeon
メディアエクスプローラを使用します。
操作方法についての詳細は各ソフトウェアのオンラインヘルプをご覧下さい。
音楽 CD をコンピューター経由でプレーヤーに転送するには
1.
プレーヤーをコンピューターに接続した状態で、スタートメニューやデスクトップの
マイコンピュータを開きます。
2.
Creative Zen Neeon メディアエクスプローラ
3.
音楽 CD を Zen Neeon にリッピングするメニューをクリックします。
4.
音楽 CD をコンピューターの CD/DVD ドライブに挿入して画面の指示に従います。
コンピューターがインターネットに接続されている場合は音楽 CD の諸情報をミュー
ジックインフォメーションサービスより入手することが可能です。
アイコンをダブルクリックします。
コンピューター上の音楽ファイルをプレーヤーに転送するには
1.
プレーヤーをコンピューターに接続した状態で、スタートメニューやデスクトップの
マイコンピュータを開きます。
2.
Creative Zen Neeon メディアエクスプローラアイコンをダブルクリックします。
3.
Zen Neeon のデータを管理するメニューをクリックします。
4.
Zen Neeon の内蔵ドライブの内容が表示されますので、Windows エクスプローラー
でファイルをコピーする場合と同様に、音楽ファイルを Zen Neeon のドライブにコ
ピーします。
･ Windows エクスプローラは、著作権保護（DRM）されている Windows Media
Audio ファイルの転送をサポートしていません。この様な DRM 付きの WMA
ファイルを転送する場合は、Creative MediaSource や Creative Zen Neeon
メディアエクスプローラなどの著作権保護機構をサポートするソフトウェアを
使用してファイルを転送して下さい。

プレーヤーの取り外し
コンピューターからプレーヤーを取り外す際は、タスクバーのシステムトレイにある取
り外しアイコン
等を使用して Windows の手順に従った安全な取り外しを行う必要
があります。手順に従わないとプレーヤーやコンピューターのデータを破損する恐れが
ありますので必ず次の手順に従って下さい。
Windows XP または Windows 2000、Windows Me の場合
1.
タスクバーのシステムトレイのハードウェアの安全な取り外しまたは取り出し
アイコン
をクリックし、ポップアップメニューより USB 大容量記憶装置
デバイスを安全に取り外しますをクリックします。
2.
安全に取り外す事が出来る旨のメッセージが表示されたらプレーヤーから USB
ケーブルを取り外します。
Windows 98 SE の場合
1.
ファイル等の転送中の場合は、転送が終了してから 10 秒程待ちます。
2.
スタートメニューやデスクトップのマイコンピュータを開き、プレーヤーがリムー
バブルディスクとして認識されているドライブのアイコンをマウスでクリックし、
右ボタンをクリックします。
3.
ポップアップメニューより取り出しをクリックして 10 秒程待ち、プレーヤーから
USB ケーブルを取り外します。

本プレーヤーでは上記以外に FM ラジオの受信や録音、内蔵マイクによるボイスレ
コーディング、ライン入力による録音等の機能を備えており、イコライザーによる
再生音の調節や再生パターンの変更等もプレーヤーで行えます。また、Creative
MediaSource オーガナイザーを使用すれば任意の曲を指定した順番で再生出来る
プレイリストを作る事も可能で、Creative Zen Neeon メディアエクスプローラで
は音楽ファイル名に連番をつけることも可能です出来ます。

ガイド、Creative MediaSource や Creative Zen Neeon メディアエクスプローラの
ヘルプをご覧下さい。

インストール CD のドライブ名、<language> はユーザーズガイドの言語（日本語の場合は
japanese）が当てはまります。

と同様、定期的にデータのバックアップを行って下さい。本書に記載している使

プレーヤーを安全にご使用頂くため、また感電やショート、怪我や損害、聴力障害等を

では適用されない場合があります。製品に付属の保証規定で保証範囲や適用条件

･ プレーヤー、バッテリー、電源アダプター等をお客様ご自身で分解、修理を行わない
で下さい。
修理に関しては製品を購入された国 / 地域の Creative カスタマーサポートにご連絡
下さい。
･ プレーヤーやバッテリーを 0 ℃～ 45 ℃の範囲外の気温中で使用したり、保管しない
で下さい。
･ プレーヤーやバッテリーに対して破壊または穴あけ、点火をしないで下さい。
･ プレーヤーやバッテリーを強い磁気のそばに置かないで下さい。
･ プレーヤーやバッテリーに強い衝撃を与えないで下さい。
･ プレーヤーやバッテリーを水で濡らしたり、多湿な状態に置かないで下さい。
･ 再生音を大音量で長時間続けて聞かないで下さい。
･ 内蔵バッテリーを取り外さないで下さい。プレーヤー / バッテリーを処分する際は
自治体の指示に従い適切に行って下さい。
また、内蔵バッテリーの交換に関しては、製品を購入された国 / 地域の Creative
カスタマーサポートまでお問い合わせ下さい。
