1 Installation Guide for Avid Editing
Applications
The most current information about your Avid editor is available in the online version of the
ReadMe. You should always check online for the most up-to-date release notes or ReadMe
because the online version is updated whenever new information becomes available. To view
these online versions, select ReadMe from the Help menu of your Avid editor, or visit the
Knowledge Base at www.avid.com/readme.
Installing the Software
If you are updating from a previous release, you should uninstall the existing editing
application. You should also uninstall Digi Drivers using Add/Remove from the Control
Panel. Reboot the system and then install the new editing application. If you do not remove
the Digi Drivers, the Audiosuite plug-ins do not load and you might receive either the error
message “This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before
running” or a “DAE Interface NOT Available” error message. Avid recommends that you
make sure you have installed Hot fix KB926255 from Windows Update to fix the problem.

If you install licensed copies of your Avid editing application from a single ISO image,
make sure that you deactivate your software prior to creating the ISO file. You must
then activate your software on each system that requires an Avid editing license.
(Macintosh Only) If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Macintosh editing
application, remove the Stereo Mixer.dpm and Surround Mixer.dpm plug-ins from the
following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. If you
do not remove these files, you might experience problems with the AudioSuite Tool.
For all Avid editing applications, you must first log in as the Administrator (not just a user
with administrator privileges), install the application, and initially launch the application as
the Administrator. If you are working in a shared storage environment, mount your
workspaces. You may then subsequently run the Avid editing application as a regular User.

(Windows) To install the Avid editing application software:
1. Quit all active applications.
2. Insert the editing application DVD.
3. Click to Install the Avid Editor Suite or Individual Product and follow the on screen
instructions.

If the FilesInUse dialog box appears, you can safely select Ignore and continue.
Depending on Windows activity on your system, some Microsoft Windows Driver Warnings
might be minimized into your task bar at installation time. If your installation is taking
longer than 5-10 minutes, please check your task bar for an icon with the word SOFTWARE
in it. Click the icon and you may safely select Continue Anyway to continue your
installation.
4. When prompted, select “Yes, restart my computer.”
(Macintosh) To install the Avid Editing application software:
1. Quit all applications.
2. Insert the editing application DVD.
3. Click to Install the Avid Editor Suite or Individual Product and follow the on screen
instructions.
4. When prompted, select “Yes, restart my computer.”
Avid Software Activation
After you install your software, you can activate your Avid editing application using one of
several methods:

You can use an Internet connection to activate your software automatically. Avid’s
Activation tool allows you to activate your software online using the system
identification number and serial number that came with your software.
•
You can use an Internet connection to activate your application manually. If the system
running your Avid editing application is not connected to the Internet, you can activate
your software by using a different computer with an Internet connection.
•
You can activate your software by upgrading from a dongle-based version to a software
license. For more information, see “Upgrading the Software” on page 12.
•
You can activate your software over the telephone by calling Avid customer service.
This option allows you to activate your editing application if your system configuration
does not allow for access to the Internet.
Activating the Software

You can run your software for a 14-day trial period without activating it. The trial period
allows you to access all functionality of your Avid editing application. At the end of the
trial period, you can choose to purchase the software and activate it at that time.
•
You can upgrade your software with an existing application key (dongle), if you have
one for a supported previous version of your Avid application.
You can activate your software only on single systems and not on multiple systems that use a
license server.
If you change your system configuration — for example, by replacing your hard drive
or by upgrading your operating system — you must first deactivate your Avid
software. For information on deactivation, see “Deactivating the Software” on page 15.
Activating the Software
After you install the software for your Avid editing application, you must activate your copy
of the application.
The Avid Activation tool launches the first time you start your editing application. If you are
using the 14-day trial version of your application, the Activation tool launches when you
start your editing application until the 14-day trial period expires.

Activation uses the hardware address from a Network Interface Controller (NIC) in
the system, so it is important not to change your Ethernet configuration once you have
activated your software. If you need to disable one or more NICs on your system, you
must do this before activation. If you install your software on a laptop that
automatically disables your NIC — for example, when you move between Ethernet and
wireless Internet connections — consult the documentation for your computer for
instructions on how to change your system’s NIC settings before you activate your Avid
software.
If you deactivate your application during the 14-day trial, the trial period continues to run
and you cannot extend your trial beyond the 14-day limit.
If you purchase your software online from Avid’s Web store, you must enter your
authorization key online to receive the serial number for your editing application.
If you are upgrading software that originally came with an application key, also called a
“dongle,” you must attach the key before activating your software with Avid’s Activation
tool (for more information, see “Connecting the Application Key” in the Help). When you
upgrade your editing application from a dongle-based version to a non-dongle version, the

Activation tool automatically deactivates your dongle when it registers your copy of the
software. For information on upgrading from a dongle-based editing application to a
software license, see “Upgrading the Software” on page 12.
To activate your Avid editing application automatically:
1. Start your Avid editing application.
The Activation tool opens.
2. Select “I want to activate my software using this computer’s Internet connection.”

The Avid Activation dialog box opens.
4. Enter your system identification number in the System ID text box. Your system
identification number is located on the inside cover of this guide. If you purchased your
Avid software online, you received your system identification number from Avid by
e-mail.

You can copy and paste your system identification number and your serial number from a
text file to the appropriate text boxes.
5. Enter your serial number in the Serial Number text box. Your serial number is located
on the inside cover of this guide. If you purchased your Avid software online, you
received your serial number from Avid by e-mail.
6. Click Activate.
The Activation tool confirms your system information. When the activation is complete,
a message informs you that your software has been successfully activated.
7. Click OK.
A registration dialog box opens.
8. Do one of the following:

Click Register Later if you do not want to register your software now. You can
register at any time by selecting Special > Register Your Software.
t
Click Register Now if you want to register your software. The Activation tool opens
the Avid Product Registration Web page in your browser, with your system
information automatically entered. When you complete your registration, you can
return to the editing application.

2. Select “I want to activate by phone or by using another computer’s Internet connection.”
3. Click Continue.
The Avid Activation dialog box opens.

text file to the appropriate text boxes.

6. If you are activating your software over the telephone, call your local Avid Support
Center. Avid Support Center contact information is available online at
http://www.avid.com/support/contact.
Your Avid representative provides an activation code for your software. Once you have
your activation code, proceed to step 12.

7. If you are using another computer to activate your software, on the second computer
open a Web browser and navigate to http://activate.avid.com.
The Avid Activation page opens.
8. Enter your machine identification number in the Avid Machine ID text box. Your Avid
Machine ID number is located on the Avid Activation dialog box.
9. Enter your system identification number in the System ID text box. Your system
identification number is located on the inside cover of this guide. If you purchased your
Avid software online, you received your system identification number from Avid by
e-mail.
10. Enter your serial number in the Serial Number text box. Your serial number is located
on the inside cover of this guide. If you purchased your Avid software online, you
received your serial number from Avid by e-mail.
11. Click Submit.
The Avid Activation page generates your activation code.
12. Transfer the Activation Code to the system you want to activate. You can copy the code
to a text file and use a removable storage device such as a USB drive, or you can transfer
the data over your network.
13. In the Avid Activation dialog box, enter the activation code in the Activation Code text
box. Copying the entire Activation Code you received from the Avid Activation page
from a text file and pasting into the first text box automatically fills the rest of the text
boxes.
14. Click Activate.
The Activation tool confirms your system information. When the activation is complete,
a message informs you that your software has been successfully activated.

15. Click OK.
A registration dialog box opens.
16. Do one of the following:

Click Register Later if you do not want to register your software now. You can
register at any time by selecting Special > Register Your Software.
t
Click Register Now if you want to register your software. The Activation tool opens
the Avid Product Registration Web page in your browser, with your system
information automatically entered. When you complete your registration, you can
return to the editing application.
To use your Avid editing application for a 14-day trial period:
1. Start your Avid editing application.
The Activation tool opens.
2. Select “I want to run a fully-featured, trial version of [the Avid editing application] for
14 days.”
3. Click Continue.
A message informs you that your software has been successfully activated. At any time
during the 14-day trial period, you can choose to purchase a copy of your Avid editing
application and use the Activation tool to activate it. If you choose not to purchase the
software, your application is deactivated when the 14-day trial expires.
Upgrading the Software
You can upgrade your Avid editing application from a dongle license to a software license. If
you upgrade from a dongle license and are changing product models, then your upgrade kit
includes a dongle updater card, upgrade code, and software activation code. Please see the
instructions in your upgrade kit to update your software.

Upgrading your dongle license to a software license updates your dongle information and
disables your dongle. Once you have activated your software license, you do not need the
dongle to run your Avid editing application.
When you upgrade your existing dongle license, you can also choose to continue using the
dongle rather than using a software license. Your upgrade kit includes a dongle updater card.
Please see the instructions in your upgrade kit for more information on the dongle updater.

Upgrading the Software
To upgrade your Avid editing application automatically to a software license:
1. Make sure you have attached your dongle to your Avid editing system.
2. Start your Avid editing application.
The Activation tool opens.
3. Select “I want to activate my software using this computer’s Internet connection.”
4. Click Continue.
The Avid Activation dialog box opens, and lists the System ID from the dongle in the
System ID text box.
5. Enter your serial number in the Serial Number text box. Use the serial number that you
received from Avid by e-mail.
6. Click Activate.
A message box informs you that activating your software license updates your dongle
information.
7. Click Continue.
The Activation tool confirms your system information. When the activation is complete,
a message informs you that your software has been successfully activated.
8. Click OK.
A registration dialog box opens.
9. Do one of the following:

Click Register Later if you do not want to register your software now. You can
register at any time by selecting Special > Register Your Software.
t
Click Register Now if you want to register your software. The Activation tool opens
the Avid Product Registration Web page in your browser, with your system
information automatically entered. When you complete your registration, you can
return to the editing application.

7. If you are using another compute to activate your software, on the second computer
open a Web browser and navigate to http://activate.avid.com.
The Avid Activation page opens.
8. Enter your machine identification number in the Avid Machine ID text box. Your Avid
Machine ID number is located on the Avid Activation dialog box.

received your serial number from Avid by e-mail.
11. Click Submit.
The Avid Activation page generates your activation code, and opens a page that asks for
a confirmation code. Do not close the confirmation code page.
12. Transfer the Activation Code to the system you want to activate. You can copy the code
to a text file and use a removable storage device such as a USB drive, or you can transfer
the data over your network.

13. In the Avid Activation dialog box, enter the activation code in the Activation Code text
box. Copying the entire Activation Code you received from the Avid Activation page
from a text file and pasting into the first text box automatically fills the rest of the text
boxes.
14. Click Activate.
The Activation tool confirms your system information. When the activation is complete,
a message informs you that your software has been successfully activated.
15. Click OK.
A confirmation code is displayed.
16. On the computer connected to the Internet, enter the confirmation code, and click OK.

If the Confirmation Code text box is not visible, click “Click here to enter your dongle
confirmation code.”
To upgrade your Avid editing application with a dongle:
1. Make sure you have attached your dongle to your Avid editing system.

You can activate your application with a dongle only if you are upgrading from an earlier
qualified version of your software to the current version. In this case, the dongle option is
available in the Activation tool. If you received a dongle updater card with your upgrade,
please see the instructions in your upgrade kit.
2. Start your Avid editing application.
The Activation tool opens.
3. Select “I am upgrading from a previous version and would like to continue using my
dongle.”
4. Click Continue.
The Activation tool confirms your system information. When the activation is complete,
a message informs you that your software has been successfully activated.
5. Click OK.
Deactivating the Software
If you want to run your Avid editing application on another system, you first must deactivate
your software license before you can activate it on a second system. Deactivation occurs
while the application is running, but the deactivation process automatically saves all open
bins and the current project.

If your system has an Internet connection, you can reactivate your Avid editing application
automatically. Otherwise, you must reactivate your software license manually by telephone
or by using another computer’s connection to the Internet. For more information on
activating your software, see “Activating the Software” on page 7.
To deactivate your Avid editing application:
1. Start your Avid editing application, and then open a project.
2. Select Special > Deactivate.
The Deactivate dialog box opens.
3. Do one of the following:
t
If you plan to use your Avid editing application on this system at a later time,
deselect the option to clear the system ID and serial number information (the option
is deselected by default). This preserves the local license information so you can
easily reactivate your license.
t
If you do not plan to use your system again — for example, if you plan to retire the
computer — select the option to delete the system ID and serial number
information. This removes the local license information from your system and
prevents other users from activating your license.
4. Click Deactivate.
When the deactivation is complete, a message informs you that your software license
has been successfully deactivated.
5. Click OK.
The application saves all open bins and the current project, and then quits.

Installation du logiciel
Si vous effectuez une mise à niveau d'une version précédente, vous devez désinstaller la
version existante de l'application. Désinstallez également les pilotes Digidesign à l'aide de la
fonction d'ajout/suppression de programmes du Panneau de configuration. Redémarrez le
système puis installez la nouvelle application de montage. Si vous ne supprimez pas les
pilotes Digidesign, le chargement des modules AudioSuite n'aura pas lieu et vous risquez de
recevoir le message d'erreur "This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a
reboot before running" (Ce logiciel nécessite l'installation du pilote de dispositifs TPkd et un
redémarrage avant exécution) ou "DAE Interface NOT Available" (Interface DAE NON
disponible). Avid vous recommande de vérifier que vous avez installé le hot fix KB926255

manuellement. Si le système sur lequel s'exécute votre application de montage Avid
n'est pas connecté à Internet, vous pouvez activer le logiciel en utilisant un autre

Vous pouvez activer le logiciel en procédant à une mise à niveau d'une version basée sur

Activation du logiciel
Après avoir installé le logiciel de l'application de montage Avid, vous devez activer votre

L'outil Activation d'Avid s'ouvre à la première exécution de l'application de montage. Si vous
utilisez la version d'essai de l'application, l'outil d'activation s'exécute chaque fois que vous

Cet outil utilise l'adresse matérielle d'un contrôleur NIC (Network Interface
Controller) du système, il est donc important de ne pas modifier la configuration
Ethernet une fois le logiciel activé. Si vous devez désactiver un ou plusieurs contrôleurs
NIC sur le système, vous devez le faire avant d'activer le logiciel. Si vous installez votre
logiciel sur un ordinateur portable qui désactive automatiquement votre carte NIC
(par exemple, lorsque vous passez d'une connexion Ethernet à une connexion Internet
sans fil), consultez la documentation de votre ordinateur pour obtenir des instructions
sur le changement des paramètres NIC de votre système NIC avant d'activer votre
logiciel Avid.
Si vous désactivez votre application au cours de la période d'essai de 14 jours, celle-ci se

La désactivation s'effectue pendant l'exécution de l'application, mais le processus de
désactivation enregistre automatiquement tous les chutiers ouverts et le projet en cours.
Si votre système est connecté à Internet, vous pouvez réactiver l'application de montage
Avid automatiquement. Dans le cas contraire, vous devez réactiver la licence du logiciel
manuellement par téléphone ou en utilisant la connexion Internet d'un autre ordinateur. Pour

Installieren der Software

Nach der Installation Ihrer Software können Sie Ihre Avid-Anwendung mit verschiedenen
Methoden aktivieren:

Aktivierungs-Tool von Avid wird die Aktivierung der Software mit der
Systemidentifizierungsnummer und der Seriennummer online durchgeführt.

Sie können die Software über eine Internetverbindung manuell aktivieren. Wenn das
System, auf dem die Avid-Anwendung ausgeführt wird, keine Verbindung mit dem
Internet hergestellt hat, können Sie die Software mit einem anderen Computer mit
Internetverbindung aktivieren.
•
Sie können die Software aktivieren, indem Sie von einer Dongle-basierten Version auf
eine Softwarelizenz aktualisieren. Weitere Informationen finden Sie unter
„Aktualisieren der Software“ auf Seite 39.
•
Sie können die Software über einen Telefonanruf beim Avid-Kundenservice aktivieren.
Diese Option ermöglicht es Ihnen, die Anwendung zu aktivieren, wenn aufgrund Ihrer

aktualisieren, wenn Ihnen einer für eine unterstützte Vorgängerversion der AvidAnwendung zur Verfügung steht.
Die Software kann nur auf einem einzelnen System und nicht auf mehreren Systemen mit
einem Lizenzserver verwendet werden.
Wenn Sie die Systemkonfiguration ändern – z. B. indem Sie Ihre Festplatte
austauschen oder das Betriebssystem aktualisieren – müssen Sie Ihre Avid-Software

Aktivieren der Software
Nach der Installation der Software der Avid-Anwendung müssen Sie Ihre Kopie der
Anwendung aktivieren.
Das Aktivierungs-Tool von Avid wird beim ersten Ausführen der Anwendung gestartet.
Wenn Sie mit der 14-tägigen Testversion der Anwendung arbeiten, wird das AktivierungsTool mit jedem Start der Anwendung geöffnet, bis der 14-tägige Testzeitraum abgelaufen ist.

Zur Aktivierung wird die Hardwareadresse eines Network Interface Controllers (NIC)
im System verwendet. Aus diesem Grund ist es wichtig, die Ethernet-Konfiguration
nicht zu verändern, nachdem Sie die Aktivierung durchgeführt haben. Falls Sie eines
oder mehrere NICs auf dem System deaktivieren müssen, sollten Sie dies vor der
Aktivierung tun. Bei Installation Ihrer Software auf einem Laptop, die automatisch
Ihren NIC deaktiviert – z. B. wenn Sie zwischen Ethernet- und kabellosen Internetverbindungen wechseln – lesen Sie die Anweisungen zum Ändern der NIC-Einstellungen
in der Dokumentation Ihres Computers, bevor Sie Ihre Avid-Software aktivieren.
Wenn Sie die Anwendung während des 14-tägigen Testzeitraums deaktivieren, wird dieser
Zeitraum dennoch fortgesetzt. Sie können die Testversion nicht über das 14-Tage-Limit
hinaus verwenden.
Wenn Sie die Software online im Internetshop von Avid erworben haben, müssen Sie online
Ihren Autorisierungsschlüssel eingeben, um die Seriennummer für Ihre Anwendung zu
erhalten.
Wenn Sie Software aktualisieren, die Sie ursprünglich mit einem Anwendungsschlüssel –
einem sogenannten „Dongle“ – erhalten haben, müssen Sie den Schlüssel zuweisen, bevor
die Software mit dem Aktivierungs-Tool von Avid aktiviert werden kann. (Weitere

aktiviert haben, benötigen Sie den Dongle nicht zum Ausführen der Avid-Anwendung.
Wenn Sie vorhandene Dongle-Lizenzen aktualisieren, können Sie auch weiterhin die

Deaktivieren der Software
Wenn Sie die Avid-Anwendung auf einem anderen System ausführen möchten, müssen Sie
dazu die Softwarelizenz deaktivieren. Erst danach können Sie diese auf einem zweiten
System aktivieren. Die Deaktivierung geschieht bei laufender Anwendung. Während des
Deaktivierungsprozesses werden jedoch automatisch alle geöffneten Bins und das aktuelle
Projekt gespeichert.
Falls Ihr System über eine Verbindung zum Internet verfügt, können Sie die AvidAnwendung automatisch erneut aktivieren. Andernfalls müssen Sie die Softwarelizenz
manuell per Telefon oder über die Internetverbindung eines anderen Computers aktivieren.
Weitere Informationen zum Aktivieren der Software finden Sie unter „Aktivieren der
Software“ auf Seite 34.
So deaktivieren Sie die Avid-Anwendung:
1. Starten Sie die Avid-Anwendung, und öffnen Sie ein Projekt.
2. Wählen Sie „Special“ Extras > Deactivate“ (Deaktivieren) aus.
Das Dialogfeld „Deactivate“ (Deaktivieren) wird geöffnet.

Wenn Sie die Avid-Anwendung zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erneut auf diesem
System verwenden möchten, deaktivieren Sie die Option zum Löschen der SystemID- und der Seriennummerinformationen (die Option ist standardmäßig
deaktiviert). Auf diese Weise werden die lokalen Lizenzinformationen beibehalten,
und Sie können die Lizenz problemlos erneut aktivieren.
Deaktivieren der Software

Wenn Sie Ihr System nicht wieder verwenden möchten, weil Sie beispielsweise den
Computer aussortieren möchten, wählen Sie die Option zum Löschen der SystemID- und der Seriennummerinformationen aus. Dadurch werden die lokalen
Lizenzinformationen vom System gelöscht. Andere Benutzer haben keine
Möglichkeit mehr, Ihre Lizenz zu aktivieren.
4. Klicken Sie auf „Deactivate“ (Deaktivieren).
Sobald die Deaktivierung abgeschlossen ist, werden Sie in einer Meldung darüber
informiert, dass die Softwarelizenz erfolgreich deaktiviert wurde.
5. Klicken Sie auf „OK“.
Die Anwendung speichert alle geöffneten Bins und das aktuelle Projekt und wird dann
geschlossen.

disponibilità in linea di note di rilascio o file Leggimi aggiornati dal momento che le
versioni in linea dei documenti vengono aggiornate in modo più tempestivo. Per visualizzare
le versioni in linea dei documenti, selezionare ReadMe (Leggimi) dal menu Help (Guida in
linea) dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid oppure consultare la Knowledge Base
all'indirizzo www.avid.com/readme.
Installazione del software
Se si sta eseguendo l'aggiornamento da una versione precedente, è necessario innanzitutto
disinstallare l'applicazione di montaggio esistente. È inoltre necessario disinstallare i driver
Digi tramite Installazione applicazioni nel Pannello di controllo. Riavviare il sistema e
installare la nuova applicazione di montaggio. Se non si rimuovono i driver Digi, i plug-in di
Audiosuite non verranno caricati ed è possibile che venga visualizzato il messaggio di errore
"This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running"
(Prima di eseguire il software è necessario installare il driver di dispositivo TPkd e riavviare
il sistema) oppure "DAE Interface NOT Available" (Interfaccia DAE non disponibile). Avid
consiglia di assicurarsi di aver installato la correzione rapida KB926255 da Windows
Update per risolvere il problema.

Se sono state installate copie concesse in licenza dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid da
una singola immagine ISO, assicurarsi di aver disattivato il software prima di
procedere alla creazione del file ISO. È necessario disattivare il software su tutti i
sistemi per i quali è richiesta una licenza di montaggio Avid.
(Solo per Macintosh) Se si sta eseguendo l'aggiornamento da una versione precedente
dell'applicazione di montaggio per Macintosh, rimuovere i plug-in Stereo Mixer.dpm e
Surround Mixer.dpm dal seguente percorso: Macintosh HD/Libreria/Application
Support/Digidesign/plug-ins. Se questi file non vengono rimossi, è possibile che lo
strumento AudioSuite non funzioni correttamente.

Per tutte le applicazioni di montaggio Avid è necessario innanzitutto effettuare l'accesso
come amministratore (non come utente con privilegi di amministratore), installare
l'applicazione ed eseguire il primo avvio come amministratore. Se si sta lavorando in un
ambiente di archiviazione condiviso, montare le aree di lavoro. Sarà quindi possibile
eseguire l'applicazione di montaggio Avid accedendo come utente normale.
(Windows) Per installare il software dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid eseguire le
operazioni seguenti:
1. Chiudere tutte le applicazioni attive.
2. Inserire il DVD dell'applicazione di montaggio.
3. Fare clic su "Install the Avid Editor Suite or Individual Product" (Installa la famiglia di
applicazioni di montaggio o un singolo prodotto Avid) e seguire le istruzioni
visualizzate.

Se viene visualizzata la finestra di dialogo "FilesInUse" (File in uso), è possibile selezionare
"Ignore" (Ignora) e continuare.
A seconda dell'attività di Windows sul sistema in uso, è possibile che durante l'installazione
alcuni messaggi di avviso relativi ai driver di Microsoft Windows vengano ridotti a icona
sulla barra delle attività. Se l'installazione richiede più di 5-10 minuti, verificare la presenza
di un'icona contenente la parola SOFTWARE sulla barra delle attività. Fare clic sull'icona e
selezionare Continua per proseguire l'installazione.
4. Quando verrà richiesto, fare clic su "Yes, restart my computer" (Sì, riavvia il computer).
(Macintosh) Per installare il software dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid eseguire le
operazioni seguenti:
1. Chiudere tutte le applicazioni.
2. Inserire il DVD dell'applicazione di montaggio.

Dopo aver installato il software, è possibile attivare l'applicazione di montaggio Avid
utilizzando uno dei metodi seguenti:

Attivazione automatica del software tramite una connessione Internet. Lo strumento di
attivazione di Avid consente di eseguire l'attivazione del software in linea utilizzando il
numero di identificazione del sistema e il numero di serie del software.

Attivazione manuale del software tramite una connessione Internet. Se il sistema sul
quale è in esecuzione l'applicazione di montaggio Avid non è connesso a Internet, è
comunque possibile attivare il software utilizzando un altro computer provvisto di
connessione Internet.
•
Attivazione tramite aggiornamento da una versione basata su chiave hardware a una con
licenza software. Per ulteriori informazioni consultare la sezione "Aggiornamento del
software" a pagina 55.
•
Attivazione tramite telefono contattando il servizio clienti Avid. Questa opzione
consente di attivare l'applicazione di montaggio laddove non sia possibile accedere a
Internet a causa della configurazione del sistema in uso.
•
Esecuzione del software per un periodo di valutazione di 14 giorni senza attivazione.
Durante il periodo di valutazione è possibile accedere a tutte le funzionalità
dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid. Allo scadere dei 14 giorni è possibile scegliere di
acquistare e attivare contestualmente il software.
•
È possibile aggiornare il software con una chiave di applicazione esistente (chiave
hardware) se si dispone di una versione precedente supportata dell'applicazione di
montaggio Avid.
È possibile attivare il software solo su singoli sistemi e non su più sistemi che si avvalgono
di un server licenze.
Se si modificano le impostazioni di sistema, ad esempio attraverso la sostituzione del
disco rigido o l'aggiornamento del sistema operativo, è necessario innanzitutto
disattivare il software Avid. Per ulteriori informazioni sulla disattivazione consultare la
sezione "Disattivazione del software" a pagina 60.

Attivazione del software
Dopo aver installato il software dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid è necessario eseguirne
l'attivazione.
Lo strumento di attivazione di Avid verrà avviato al primo avvio dell'applicazione di
montaggio. Se si sta utilizzando la versione di valutazione valida per 14 giorni, lo strumento
di attivazione verrà avviato ad ogni avvio dell'applicazione di montaggio fino allo scadere
del periodo di valutazione.

Per l'attivazione viene utilizzato l'indirizzo hardware di un NIC (Network Interface
Controller) del sistema; per questo motivo, è importante non modificare la
configurazione Ethernet in seguito all'attivazione del software. Se si desidera
disattivare uno o più NIC del sistema, è necessario farlo prima di eseguire l'attivazione
del prodotto. Se si installa il software su un computer portatile sul quale il NIC viene
disattivato in modo automatico, ad esempio quando si passa da una connessione
Internet Ethernet a una senza fili, consultare la documentazione relative al computer
per istruzioni su come modificare le impostazioni NIC del sistema prima di attivare il
software Avid.
Se l'applicazione viene disattivata nel corso del periodo di valutazione di 14 giorni, la
validità continuerà comunque a decorrere dalla data del primo avvio; non è inoltre possibile
estendere il periodo di valutazione oltre il limite di 14 giorni.
Se il software è stato acquistato tramite Internet dal sito Web di Avid, è necessario inserire la
chiave di autorizzazione in linea per ricevere il numero di serie dell'applicazione di
montaggio.
Se si sta eseguendo l'aggiornamento di un software dotato di chiave hardware, è necessario
collegare la chiave prima di attivare il software tramite lo strumento di attivazione di Avid.
Per ulteriori informazioni consultare la sezione "Connecting the Application Key"
(Connessione della chiave hardware dell'applicazione) dell'Help (Guida in linea). Se si
esegue l'aggiornamento dell'applicazione da una versione basata su chiave hardware a una
versione con licenza elettronica, la chiave hardware verrà automaticamente disattivata al

copertina della presente guida. Se il software Avid è stato acquistato tramite Internet, il
numero di identificazione del sistema è stato inviato da Avid tramite posta elettronica.
10. Inserire il numero di serie nella casella di testo Serial Number (Numero di serie). Il
numero di serie è riportato nella parte interna della copertina della presente guida. Se il
software Avid è stato acquistato tramite Internet, il numero di serie è stato inviato da
Avid tramite posta elettronica.
11. Fare clic su Submit (Invia).
Verrà generato un codice di attivazione.
12. Trasferire il codice di attivazione nel sistema che si desidera attivare. È possibile copiare
il codice in un file di testo e trasferirlo tramite un dispositivo rimovibile di
archiviazione, ad esempio un'unità USB, oppure trasferire i dati tramite la rete.
13. Nella finestra di dialogo Avid Activation (Attivazione Avid), inserire il codice di
attivazione nella corrispondente casella di testo. Se si copia per intero il codice di
attivazione indicato nella pagina di attivazione dei prodotti Avid in un file di testo e lo si
incolla all'interno della prima casella di testo, le restanti caselle di testo verranno
popolate automaticamente.

Aggiornamento del software
È possibile aggiornare l'applicazione di montaggio Avid da una versione con chiave
hardware a una con licenza software. Se si esegue l'aggiornamento da una licenza con chiave
hardware e si è passati a modelli diversi del prodotto, il kit di aggiornamento include una
scheda di aggiornamento della chiave hardware, un codice di aggiornamento e il codice di
attivazione del software. Per informazioni sull'aggiornamento del software consultare le
istruzioni disponibili all'interno del kit di aggiornamento.

L'aggiornamento della licenza con chiave hardware a una licenza software comporta
l'aggiornamento automatico delle informazioni della chiave hardware e la disattivazione
della chiave hardware stessa. Dopo aver attivato la licenza software, non è necessario
disporre di una chiave hardware per eseguire l'applicazione di montaggio Avid.
Quando si esegue l'aggiornamento della licenza con chiave hardware esistente, è comunque
possibile scegliere di continuare a utilizzare la chiave hardware invece di ricorrere alla
licenza software. Il kit di aggiornamento include una scheda di aggiornamento della chiave
hardware. Per ulteriori informazioni sull'aggiornamento della chiave hardware consultare le
istruzioni disponibili all'interno del kit di aggiornamento.
Per eseguire l'aggiornamento automatico dell'applicazione di montaggio Avid a una
versione con licenza software eseguire le operazioni seguenti:
1. Assicurarsi di aver collegato la chiave hardware al sistema di montaggio Avid.
2. Avviare l'applicazione di montaggio Avid.
Verrà aperto lo strumento di attivazione.
3. Selezionare "I want to activate my software using this computer’s Internet connection"

3. Selezionare "I am upgrading from a previous version and would like to continue using

Le informazioni fornite verranno sottoposte a verifica. Al termine dell'attivazione verrà

Disattivazione del software
Per eseguire l'applicazione di montaggio Avid su un altro sistema, è necessario innanzitutto
disattivare la licenza software prima di poterla riattivare su un secondo computer. Il processo
di disattivazione si verifica durante l'esecuzione dell'applicazione; tutti i progetti correnti e i
bin aperti verranno automaticamente salvati.
Se il sistema dispone di connessione Internet, è possibile riattivare l'applicazione di
montaggio Avid in modo automatico. In alternativa, è necessario riattivare manualmente la
licenza software tramite telefono o la connessione Internet di un altro computer. Per ulteriori
informazioni sull'attivazione del software, consultare la sezione "Attivazione del software" a
pagina 50.
Per disattivare l'applicazione di montaggio Avid eseguire le operazioni seguenti:
1. Avviare l'applicazione di montaggio Avid e aprire un progetto.
2. Selezionare Special > Deactivate (Speciale Disattiva).
Verrà visualizzata la finestra di dialogo Deactivate (Disattiva).
3. Procedere in uno dei modi seguenti:

Se si intende tornare a utilizzare l'applicazione di montaggio Avid sul sistema in un
momento successivo, disattivare l'opzione relativa alla cancellazione delle
informazioni sul numero di identificazione del sistema e sul numero di serie

informazioni relative alla licenza locale non verranno rimosse e sarà quindi
possibile riattivare la licenza in un secondo momento.
Disattivazione del software

Se non si desidera tornare a utilizzare il sistema , ad esempio perché si sta
procedendo alla sua sostituzione , selezionare l'opzione per l'eliminazione delle

aparece información nueva. Para ver las versiones online, seleccione el archivo Léame
(ReadMe) del menú Ayuda (Help) del editor Avid, o bien visite Knowledge Base en
www.avid.com/readme.
Instalación del software
Si está actualizando una versión anterior, debe desinstalar la aplicación de edición existente.
Además, debe desinstalar los controladores digitales mediante las opciones Agregar/Quitar
(Add/Remove) del Panel de control (Control Panel). Reinicie el sistema y, luego, instale la
nueva aplicación de edición. Si no elimina los controladores digitales, no se cargarán los
módulos adicionales Audiosuite y es posible que reciba el mensaje de error "This software
requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running" (Antes de ejecutar
este software debe instalar el controlador de dispositivo TPkd y reiniciar el sistema), o bien
el mensaje de error "DAE Interface NOT Available" (Interfaz DAE NO disponible). Avid
recomienda que se asegure de haber instalado la revisión KB926255 de Windows Update
para resolver el problema.

Si instala las copias con licencia de la aplicación de edición Avid desde una imagen ISO,
asegúrese de desactivar el software antes de crear el archivo ISO. A partir de ahí, debe
activar el software en cada sistema que requiere una licencia de edición Avid.
(Sólo Macintosh) Si la actualización es de una versión anterior de la aplicación de edición
para Macintosh, elimine los módulos adicionales Stereo Mixer.dpm y Surround Mixer.dpm

Después de instalar su software, puede activar la aplicación de edición Avid mediante uno de
los siguientes métodos:

Puede utilizar una conexión a Internet para activar el software de manera automática. La
herramienta de activación de Avid le permite activar el software online con el número de
identificación del sistema y el número de serie incluidos con el software.

Puede utilizar una conexión a Internet para activar el software manualmente. Si el
sistema con el cual se ejecuta la aplicación de edición Avid no está conectado a Internet,
puede activar el software con otro ordenador que disponga de conexión a Internet.
•
Para activar el software puede realizar una actualización de una versión con mochila a
una con licencia de software. Para más información, consulte “Actualización del
software” en la página 71.
•
Puede activar el software telefónicamente por medio del servicio de atención al cliente
de Avid. Esta opción le permite activar la aplicación de edición en caso de que la
configuración del sistema no le permita el acceso a Internet.
•
Puede ejecutar el software durante un período de prueba de 14 días sin necesidad de
activarlo. El período de prueba le permite acceder a todas las funciones de la aplicación
de edición Avid. Al finalizar el período de prueba, puede optar por comprar el software
y activarlo en ese momento.
•
Puede actualizar el software con una clave de aplicación existente (mochila), si tiene
una para una versión anterior compatible de la aplicación Avid.
Es posible activar el software solamente en sistemas únicos y no en sistemas múltiples que
utilizan un servidor de licencias.
Si cambia la configuración del sistema, por ejemplo, si reemplaza el disco duro o actualiza
el sistema operativo, debe desactivar primero el software Avid. Para más información

Después de la instalación del software de la aplicación de edición Avid, debe activar la copia
de la aplicación.
La herramienta de activación Avid se inicia la primera vez que utiliza la aplicación de edición.
Si utiliza la versión de prueba de 14 días de la aplicación, la herramienta de activación se
iniciará cada vez que se abra la aplicación de edición hasta que venza dicho período de prueba.

La activación utiliza la dirección de hardware de una Administración de interfaz de
red (NIC, Network Interface Controller) del sistema, por lo tanto, es importante no
modificar la configuración de Ethernet una vez que se haya activado el software. Si
necesita desactivar uno o más NIC del sistema, debe hacerlo antes de la activación. Si
instala el software en un portátil que desactiva su NIC de forma automática, por
ejemplo, cuando se mueve entre conexiones Ethernet y de Internet inalámbrica,
consulte la documentación del ordenador para obtener instrucciones sobre la
modificación de la configuración del NIC del sistema antes de activar el software Avid.
Si desactiva la aplicación durante el período de prueba de 14 días, dicho período
continuará ejecutándose y no se podrá extender el límite de 14 días.
Si compra el software online en la tienda Web de Avid, debe introducir la clave de
autorización online par recibir el número de serie para su aplicación de edición.
Si actualiza un software que originalmente incluía una clave de aplicación, también
denominada "mochila" o "dongle", debe colocar la clave antes de activar el software con la
herramienta de activación de Avid (para obtener más información, consulte "Conectar la
llave de la aplicación" en la Ayuda). Al actualizar la aplicación de edición de una versión
con mochila a una versión sin mochila, la herramienta de activación desactiva la mochila de
manera automática cuando se registra la copia del software. Para obtener información sobre

En la página Activación de Avid (Avid Activation) se genera el código de activación.
12. Transfiera el código de activación al sistema que desee activar. Puede copiar el código
en un archivo de texto y utilizar un dispositivo de almacenamiento extraíble, como una
unidad USB, o bien transferir los datos por medio de la red.
13. En el cuadro de diálogo Activación de Avid (Avid Activation), escriba el código de
activación en el cuadro de texto Código de activación (Activation Code). Si copia el
código de activación completo recibido en la página de activación de Avid desde un
archivo de texto y lo pega en el primer cuadro de texto, el resto de los cuadros de texto

producto, el kit de actualización incluye una tarjeta de actualización de mochila, un código
de actualización y un código de activación de software. Consulte las instrucciones del kit de
actualización para actualizar el software.

información de mochila y ésta se desactiva. Una vez que activó la licencia de software, no es

utilizando la mochila en lugar de una licencia de software. El kit de actualización incluye
una tarjeta de actualización de mochila. Consulte las instrucciones en su kit de actualización

Para actualizar automáticamente la aplicación de edición Avid a una versión con
licencia de software:
1. Asegúrese de haber conectado la mochila al sistema de edición Avid.

Desactivación del software
Si desea ejecutar la aplicación de edición Avid en otro sistema, primero, debe desactivar la
licencia de software para poder activarla en un segundo sistema. La desactivación se produce
mientras se ejecuta la aplicación, pero el proceso de desactivación guarda automáticamente
todos los bins abiertos y el proyecto en curso.
Si su sistema dispone de conexión a Internet, puede volver a activar la aplicación de edición
Avid de manera automática. De lo contrario, debe volver a activar la licencia de software
manualmente por vía telefónica o por medio de otro ordenador con conexión a Internet. Para

Para desactivar la aplicación de edición Avid:

momento, anule la opción para borrar el Id. del sistema y el número de serie (la

Si no tiene pensado utilizar el sistema nuevamente, por ejemplo, si va a retirar el

4. Haga clic en Desactivar (Deactivate).

ソフトウェアのインストール
以前のリリースからアップデートする場合は、既存の編集アプリケーションをア
ンインストールしてください。また、Digi Driver も、コントロール パネルの［追加
と削］を使用してアンインストールしてください。システムを再起動した後に、新
しい編集アプリケーションをインストールします。Digi Drivers を削除しないと、
AudioSuite プラグインはロードされず、
「このソフトウェアを実行する前に、デバ
イス ドライバ TPkd をインストールして再起動する必要があります」または「DAE
インターフェイスが使用できません」というエラー メッセージが表示される場合
があります。この問題を解決するために、Windows Updates からホット フィック
ス KB926255 をインストールすることをお勧めします。

単一の ISO イメージから正規版の Avid 編集アプリケーションをインストールする
場合は、ISO ファイルを作成する前に必ずソフトウェアをアクティベーション解除
してください。その後に、Avid 編集ソフトウェア ライセンスを必要とする各シス
テム上で、ソフトウェアをアクティベートする必要があります。
（Macintosh のみ）旧版の Macintosh 編集アプリケーションからアップグレードする
場合は、Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins から
Stereo Mixer.dpm および Surround Mixer.dmp プラグインを削除してください。これ
らのファイルを削除しないと、AudioSuite Tool で問題が発生する場合があります。
すべての Avid 編集アプリケーションでは、最初に管理者として（管理者権限のあ
るユーザではなく）ログインし、アプリケーションをインストールし、管理者と
してアプリケーションを最初に起動する必要があります。共有ストレージ環境で作
業する場合は、自分の作業環境をマウントしてください。初回以降は、普通のユー

きます。Avid 編集アプリケーションを実行しているシステムがインターネット

ドングル ベースのバージョンをソフトウェア ライセンスにアップグレードす

ソフトウェアのアクティベーション
Avid 編集アプリケーションのソフトウェアをインストールしたら、アプリケー
ションをアクティベートする必要があります。
編集アプリケーションを初めて起動したときに、Avid アクティベーション ツール
が起動します。14 日試用版のアプリケーションを使用している場合は、14 日間の
試用期間が終了した後に編集アプリケーションを起動したときに、アクティベー
ション ツールが起動します。

アクティベーションでは、システム内のネットワーク インターフェイス コントロー
ラ（NIC）からのハードウェア アドレスを使用するので、ソフトウェアをアクティ
ベートしたらイーサネット構成を変更しないことが重要です。システム上の NIC を
いくつか無効にする必要がある場合は、アクティベーション前にこれを行ってくだ
さい。イーサネットによるインターネット接続とワイヤレスによるインターネット
接続を切り替えるときなど、NIC を自動的に無効にするようなソフトウェアをラッ
プトップにインストールする場合、コンピュータのマニュアルを参照して、Avid ソ
フトウェアをアクティベートする前にシステムの NIC 設定を変更してください。

14 日の試用期間中にアプリケーションをアクティベーション解除しても、試用期
間はそのまま継続し、14 日の期限を延長することはできません。
Avid のウェブ ストアからオンラインでソフトウェアを購入した場合は、承認キー
をオンラインで入力して、ご使用の編集アプリケーションのためのシリアル番号
を受信する必要があります。
アプリケーション キー（ドングルともいう）が付属していたソフトウェアをアッ
プグレードする場合は、Avid アクティベーション ツールを使用してソフトウェア

。編集アプリケーションをドングル ベースのバージョ

ソフトウェアのアクティベーション解除
Avid 編集アプリケーションを別のコンピュータで実行したい場合は、最初にソフ
トウェア ライセンスのアクティベーションを解除してから、別のシステムでそれ
を再びアクティベートする必要があります。アクティベーション解除はアプリケー
ションの実行中に行われますが、アクティベーション解除プロセス中に、開いて
いるすべてのビンと現在のプロジェクトが自動的に保存されます。
システムにインターネットが接続されている場合は、Avid 編集アプリケーション
を自動的に再アクティベーションできます。インターネットが接続されていない場
合は、電話またはインターネットに接続されている別のコンピュータを使用して、
ソフトウェア ライセンスを手動で再アクティベーションする必要があります。ソ

合は、「システム ID とシリアル番号情報を消去する」オプションを選択解
除します（このオプションはデフォルトでは選択解除されてます）

より、ローカル ライセンス情報が保持されるので、ライセンスを簡単に再
アクティベートできます。

システムを再び使用する予定がない場合（たとえば、そのコンピュータを
破棄する場合）は、このオプションを選択してシステム ID とシリアル番号
情報を削除します。これにより、システムからローカルライセンス情報が
削除され、他のユーザがライセンスをアクティベートすることを防止でき
ます。
4.［Deactivate（アクティベーション解除）
］をクリックします。
アクティベーション解除が完了すると、ソフトウェア ライセンスが正しくア
クティベーション解除されたというメッセージが表示されます。
5.［OK］をクリックします。
アプリケーションは開いているすべてのビンと現在のプロジェクトを保存し、
終了します。

啟動使用系統的網路介面控制器 (NIC) 的地址，因此，在您啟動軟體後不得變更
Ethernet 組態。如需禁用系統的一個或多個 NIC，應在啟動之前完成。如果您在您
