日本では誰もが知り、必ずと言っていいほど利用されているUNIQLO。
フラッグシップ・ストアーオープンを控えたビバリーセンターのポップアップストアから先駆けレポート！
A well known brand and one may even say that almost everyone in Japan has at least one item from UNIQLO.
With the new flagship store in the works of opening in Beverly Center, first we went in for a job trial report at the Pop-up
store to find out more.
What is a
"Store manager" and
an "Area manager"?
How often
do you need to
contact the
Japan head quarter?
All UNIQLO products and concepts are globally unified and
managers come from all over the world to Japan for meetings.
But most other things like training new employees are based
locally. For UNIQLO, all employees sharing the same core value is
very important, but at the same time we pursue a way to bring
out the best performance in each and everyone, while not tying
them down to a rigid rule.
大きな規模のお店は別として、
小さなお店ではなかなか専門の方をその為だけに配置するということは難し
いので、
役割分担と言いますか、
社員の長所をいかに集結させられるかという事を会社としては注意してい
ます。

グのマニュアルを、
日本も含め、
世界へと発進しています。
定期的にアップデートされ、
それぞれ現地のビジュ
アル・スタイリング担当のマネージャーたちとコミュニケーションを取り合います。
It is not practical to designate a hired specialist for such task for small stores but we pay
attention to the strengths and qualities of each employees and let them flourish. We
have style manuals that gets developed in New York and regularly updated, which gets
horizontally transferred among employees across the world to absorb and use for
displaying items. So we try to look at an employee at each location that have strengths in
visual stylings and have them take on projects. Adding to that, each projects move
forward with strong communication between the managers.
How is the training process?

ミシン等)をしてから店頭に立ちます。

本的な業務が出来ないのに売り場に立つという事はありません。
After being hired, all employees must view our universal
employee training video to learn the company history,
products, and philosophy. Next comes basic training
(how to fold merchandise, operation of register, how to
use the sewing machine, etc) before going on to the sales
floor. In other words, everyone on the floor is capable of
operating all the basics of what this work entails.
Directly connecting people with businesses
Store managers manage a single store. Whereas Area managers manage
multiple stores (about 3 in the US, 6-7 in Japan). The two work together to
manage and improve sales and customer experience.
Is there a specialist
for styling
the mannequins?

新人トレーニング等は主に現地で行っていきます。
全員が同じマインドを持っ

ストアマネージャーとは店長の事で1店舗のみを管轄します。
エリアマネージャーは複数店
舗(日本なら6 7店舗、
アメリカなら3店舗ほど)を管轄し、
ストアマネージャーとともに売上
管理やお客様の満足度アップを目指します。
もちろん、
店舗にでて接客することもあります。

今回レポートに協力して頂いたのはエリア
マネージャーのMasaki Takanoさん。
1999年に新入社員として日本で入社。1年
後にストアマネージャーに抜擢され、3年後
にはエリアマネージャーに就任。2009年に
渡米し、
ファッション先端の地NYにてマネ
ージャー務める。3ヶ月前に西海岸エリアに
異動し、接客から新人研修、店舗立ち上げ
などマルチに活躍中。
Masaki Takano is the Area manager who
helped us on this report. He entered the
company in 1999 in Japan. After his first
year, he was promoted to a Store manager.
3 years after that he got promoted to an
Area manager. In 2009 he came to the
New York location as a manager. He came
to the West Coast to manage the area 3
months ago and since been busy involved
with direct customer sales, employee
training and store opening.
