◆展覧会の概要・テーマ紹介等◆
幼少期ニューヨークに住んでいたかずはりんぬ。日本に帰国してからもアメ
リカンな雑貨やアニメに囲まれ育ったことで独特な色味やポップさなどさま
ざまな影響を受け、現在の活動に繋がっている。2015 年冬に行われた自身初
の個展を台湾で行い、春に地元である兵庫県神戸市にて国内初個展開催。３
度目となる今回は自身の原点でもあるニューヨークで開催！今まで展示して
きた作品から一変、画布に書いた絵画をそのまま展示します！今回のニュー
ヨークでの個展のために、１枚１枚描きました。この作品が展示されるのは
今回が初めてです！アメリカンで原宿っぽくて少し毒々しいかずはりんぬの
世界をどうぞお楽しみください。
（展示中の土日は休館です。来ていただいた
方には作品の一部になる紙に名前を書いていただき、後日かずはりんぬが作
品にします。是非私の作品作りにご協力ください！）
私はいつも身の回りにあるものがすべて生きているように見えます。ですの
で一人の時も雑貨に囲まれているととても楽しい気分になります。そのこと
から私の作品は擬人化したものが多く、またこの考え方を「脳みその中にす
べてをキャラクターに変換する魔法の機械がある」という表現をし台湾語で
の曲を作ったりしています。今回の作品も、身の回りにあるものが楽しく見
えてくるような作品ばかりです。どうぞお楽しみください！
◆アーティスト略歴等◆
両親芸術大学出身という芸術一家に育ち、幼少期アメリカ NY に住んでいたこ
とからアメリカンポップな雑貨やデザインに囲まれた生活をおくる。絵を描
くことが幼い頃から自身の楽しみや励ましになり、13 歳で PC を使ったイラス
トを描くようになり 15 歳になって本格的にイラストレーターを目指す。高校
になって始めたブログではイラストやファッションを更新し 4000 人以上の購
読者を記録、また会員数 330 万人のブログサイトでアクセスランキングが全
国 100 位以内を記録した。
17 歳でプロのイラストレーターとして活動を始め、地上波テレビ番組ロゴや
雑誌連載、東京にある小学校の創立 100 周年キャラクターデザインや数々の
商品コラボなどを担当。また神戸や山口県の商品デザインなど地方での活動
から、台北での個展やパリ・ロンドンでのイベント、カンボジアでのワーク
ショップなど日本国内外問わず活動。イラスト作品と合わせ自身も作品とし
て、レポーターや CM 作品出演などメディアでも活動している。
学校がつまらなかったとき、ケンカをしたとき、気分が落ち込んだときに支
えになったのは海外のアニメを見ている時間と絵を書いている時間でした。
最初は自分のために絵を書いていたけれど、誰かの支えにもなれるはず。そ
ういった思い＆自分が楽しい＆自分の支えになるという気持ちでプロとして
の活動を高校生から始めました。イラストだけでなく他の方法でも明るい気
分になれるものは生み出せると気がつき、それからさまざまな分野で、さま
ざまな場所(日本/台湾/アメリカ/パリ/カンボジアなど)で世界観を表現して
います。真面目に頑張ろうとするけれど抜けていて、おばかでドジな自分を
否定せずに素直に認め作品の要素として生かしていくことで自分を肯定的に
考えられている今も、小中学生の時と変わらず自分の活動に自分自身が支え
られているんだなと実感しています。これからもずっと、そしてもっと楽し
く生きていく要素に自身の活動は必要不可欠な存在です。
○Exhibition Summary
I’m Kazuha Rinnu. I used to live in New York as a young child. Even after coming
back to Japan, I grew around the influence of American goods, animation and the
pop culture with its striking colors, all of which can be traced to my current work.
My first solo exhibition took place in winter 2015 in Taiwan, followed in springtime
by my first solo exhibition in Japan in my hometown Kobe, Hyogo prefecture. For
the third one, I'm going to New York, back to my origins ! Different from my other
exhibitions so far, I will this time display my works on authentic canvas fabric ! Each
one of those artworks was drawn especially for this occasion and will be shown
there for the first time! Please enjoy my eccentric world, halfway between America
and Harajuku.
(The Exhibition is closed on Saturday and Sunday. For the people who’ll be there, I
would love for you to write your name on a piece of fabric, which I will later make
into an artwork. Let’s collaborate in art making! )
I always live thinking that everything around me looks alive too. That’s why even
when I’m alone I have lots of fun just being surrounded by all kinds of things.
That’s why you will see many personified objects in my work. I see this way of
thinking as a «brain mechanism transforming everything into characters» which is
the theme of a music project I did in Taiwan. This time’s artworks are also all about
making everything around you look fun! I hope you enjoy!
○Artist biography
With parents who graduated from art university and living in New York at a young
age, I grew up surrounded by American Pop culture, design and goods. I’ve been
passionate about drawing since I was a kid. I first started to draw digitally on a PC
when I was 13 and started seriously considering becoming and illustrator by the
time I was 15. I began blogging about illustration and fashion when I was in high
school, and my blog now has over 4’000 subscribers and ranks in the top 100
nationwide with 3.3 million viewers.
★I started working professionally as an illustrator when I was 17, doing works like
logo and magazine design for a terrestrial broadcasting TV program, or
collaborating in designing characters and various goods for the 100th anniversary
of a primary school in Tokyo. I went from working for the city of Kobe or the
prefecture of Yamaguchi to exhibit in Taipei, participated in events in Paris and
London, did workshops in Cambodia, exercising my activity in Japan and abroad.
Besides my illustrations, I’ve also myself appeared as a reporter and featured in
commercials and various medias.
